The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1362

 Chapter 1362

Raon went up onto the platform after the sun had completely set.

“Fall in.”

He stood at the edge of the platform and summoned the Light Wind swordsmen as the lights surrounding the fifth training ground began turning on one by one.

“Fall in!”

The swordsmen scattered throughout the training ground echoed Raon’s command as they gathered in front of the platform. Though every one of them was exhausted, they formed ranks in perfect posture without the slightest disorder.

“Tomorrow. No, there are not even twenty-four hours left.”

Raon slowly nodded as he gazed at the darkening sky.

Gulp.

The sound of the swordsmen swallowing dryly at the mention that the war was exactly tomorrow rang out.

“The enemies are strong.”

Raon slowly lowered his gaze and met the eyes of the Light Wind swordsmen.

“The demons of Eden are madmen who can charge forward while tearing their own hearts apart, and the celestials will toy with us using their mysterious abilities.”

Unlike usual, when he would tell them to have courage, he first spoke of the enemies’ strength and danger.

“Why is the palace master saying things that are killing our spirits?”

Krein frowned as he looked at Raon.

"Y-Yeah?"

"He's not like his usual self."

“He’d usually tell us to smash them all to pieces.”

Through Raon’s words, the swordsmen seemed to realize just how dangerous tomorrow’s war truly was, and their eyes began to tremble.

“Wait.”

Unlike the others, Dorian did not tremble. He shook his head and spoke in a confident tone.

“That isn’t all he has to say.”

He lightly bit his lip as though he could read what Raon was thinking.

“Yes. It will be a dangerous battle, dangerous enough for dozens of lives to be lost in an instant.”

Even as he heard the Light Wind swordsmen’s complaints, Raon continued to emphasize the danger of the battle.

“However.”

He calmly exhaled and placed his right hand on the hilt of Heavenly Drive.

“You are more dangerous, and you are sharper.”

Though Raon’s voice was not particularly loud, his words about their strength struck the swordsmen’s ears with such precision that they seemed to drive straight into them.

“Having been taught by the Sword of Light Rimmer Dias and earned the recognition of the Sword Immortal Raon Zieghart, you are unquestionably stronger than the enemy.”

When the name of their first master, whom they still deeply missed, was mentioned, the Light Wind swordsmen bit their lips. When Raon acknowledged them himself, they clenched their fists until the veins stood out.

“Neither Eden’s madness nor the celestials’s extraordinary abilities can stop the Light Wind’s swords.”

Raon drew Heavenly Drive as he declared that none of their enemies could stop the Light Wind Palace. From the sword in his hand, an energy wave both sharp enough to cleave apart the night sky and majestic enough to stand above all things burst forth.

Chaaang!

Unable to contain the pride swelling within their chests, the Light Wind swordsmen drew their swords along with Raon.

“Uooooooooh!”

“Light Wind Palace!”

“Victory for Zieghart!”

They released the heat boiling within them through their cheers and thrust their swords toward the night sky.

Kuwaaaaaaaang!

The intense energy waves released by the Light Wind swordsmen shot upward as though they would tear the sky apart.

Then, something mysterious happened.

Rumbleeeee!

Similar phenomena occurred throughout Zieghart. It was not only the Light Wind Palace, the other armed groups also unleashed their fighting spirit from their respective locations, wishing for victory in the war.

“Did you see that?”

Raon gave a faint smile and nodded.

“Everyone in Zieghart is certain of victory.”

He raised Heavenly Drive as though Zieghart’s victory had already been decided.

“Have confidence in yourselves.”

Raon pointed Heavenly Drive, which emitted a razor-sharp light, at each of the Light Wind swordsmen’s hearts one by one.

"You are the swordsmen who endured the Sword Immortal Raon Zieghart's Heavenly Drive."

Simply hearing him speak his own title and name caused the Light Wind swordsmen’s confidence and fighting spirit to rise even further.

Gooooooo!

The Light Wind swordsmen seemed to truly gain confidence from Raon’s words, releasing energy waves several times stronger than anything they had shown until now. Their momentum burned so intensely that it was visible to the naked eye, making it feel as though the sun had risen once again.

“I’ll see you tomorrow.”

With those words, Raon descended from the platform. As though no further words were necessary, he did not even wave his hand as he left the fifth training ground.

“Waaah….”

“A-As expected, the palace master really is different….”

“Yeah. Just being able to train alongside him like this is already a rare opportunity.”

The Light Wind swordsmen seemed deeply moved by Raon’s speech, their hands still trembling.

“I-I thought I was going to piss myself when the palace master sword pointed at me.”

“Me too! But when he said that we had endured Heavenly Drive of the Sword Immortal Raon Zieghart, a flame started burning in my chest. No, in my very soul!”

“Yeah. I felt like I could do anything.”

“For me, it was that! When energy waves rose simultaneously across all of Zieghart, I got goosebumps!”

“That was definitely the coolest part! It made me feel like we could never lose!”

The swordsmen nodded emphatically, saying that Raon’s words had given them both confidence and fighting spirit.

“That guy, he’s gotten pretty good at speaking now.”

Martha chuckled as she looked toward the door through which Raon had left.

“He’s good with a sword, good at speaking, and good at training people. He really doesn’t have anything he’s bad at anymore.”

She shrugged, saying there was nothing she could beat Raon at.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about. Raon has always been good at speaking. To the point of being annoying.”

Burren slightly narrowed his eyes as he recalled how Raon used to get the better of him back when they were younger.

“The only difference is that when he was younger, he was bluffing with nothing inside him. Now, he’s full of substance.”

He nodded heavily, saying that Raon’s words now carried tremendous strength and conviction.

“He’s amazing….”

Runaan breathed out, frost forming with his breath, saying that Raon was simply amazing.

“I feel like I can do anything too….”

She clasped his hands together, saying that she would give everything for Raon.

“Haah, he really is an incredible man….”

Krein lowered the sword he had been holding toward the sky, saying that he had been overwhelmed by Raon’s presence.

“Yeah. There’s no one else like him.”

Dorian nodded in agreement.

“Oh right! Hey! How did you read the palace master’s thoughts this time? You said you haven’t been able to lately.”

Krein nudged Dorian with his elbow after realizing that Dorian had understood what Raon meant.

“He was being sincere.”

Dorian closed his eyes and let out a deep breath.

“He was truly convinced that we could defeat Eden and the celestials.”

He nodded, saying that unlike usual, Raon’s conviction had come through to him with unusual strength.

Whoooooooosh!

At those words, an even deeper heat began to burn in the eyes of the Light Wind swordsmen.

“I-I’m going to train more!”

“Me too! I’m staying up all night tonight!”

“Eden, celestials, they’re all dead!”

The swordsmen raised their swords again, determined to repay Raon’s faith in them.

“What? The war is tomorrow!”

“Stop it! You crazy bastards!”

"Go and prepare..."

Burren, Martha, and Runaan were busy stopping the swordsmen, and they were only able to leave the training ground after another hour had passed.

As Raon was returning to the annex building, Wrath flew into view before him.

Hmph! You sly fox!

Wrath gave him a hollow laugh as he looked at him.

‘What?’

Raon blinked as he looked at Wrath.

The energy waves that were fired into the sky….

Wrath wrinkled his nose as he recalled the powerful energy waves that had risen throughout Zieghart, not just from the Light Wind Palace.

That was all planned by you, wasn't it!

‘Well, yes.’

Raon gave a small chuckle.

‘I thought it would have a positive effect on everyone, not just the Light Wind swordsmen.’

As Wrath said, the fact that Zieghart’s armed groups had simultaneously released their energy waves had been my plan. I had asked the leaders of each armed group to draw out their swordsmen’s energy waves at sunset as a sign that we would win the war, and it seemed to have worked perfectly.

‘I just didn’t expect Sir Karoon to agree.’

He had naturally expected Balder, Sheryl, and Serena to agree, but when it came to Karoon, he had assumed Karoon would oppose it, saying that it was pointless.

But he followed his plan without saying much. In fact, aside from Light Wind Palace, the Central Martial Palace showed the strongest surge of fighting spirit today.

The Big Shitty Eyes has changed quite a bit too, hasn’t he?

Wrath shook his head, saying that it wasn’t particularly strange.

‘That’s right. And so….’

Raon smiled faintly, then closed and opened his eyes.

‘I don’t think we’ll lose tomorrow.’

Even Karoon, who had once stood on the exact opposite side from him, had become one with him under the name of Zieghart. With Glenn still going strong, the Zieghart of today was practically invincible.

That doesn’t seem wrong.

Wrath also nodded slowly, as if agreeing that he was right this time.

Anyway! Hurry and go home!

He rapidly patted Raon on the shoulder.

The delicious smell is reaching all the way here!

Wrath ground his teeth, determined to make sure he got to eat a proper home-cooked meal on time today.

‘I know. I want to eat my fill today too.’

Raon smiled brightly, lightly leaped over the garden, and opened the door to the annex building.

Fwoooosh.

The moment he opened the door, warmth that melted away the chill clinging to his clothes and skin, along with the mouthwatering aroma of food, wafted toward him.

“Oh my! You’re back?”

Evelyn greeted him as though she had been waiting for him, slightly lifting the hem of her maid dress.

“Would you like to shower first? Or eat first? Or perha—”

“Young master has arrived. Everyone, please get ready.”

Judiel gently pushed Evelyn aside and bowed her head.

“Young master is here! Everyone, get started!”

As the head maid, Helen, heard Judiel's words and gave the order, the maids headed to the dining room carrying plates radiating with steam.

Woooooah! Every one of these dishes is top-class! At last, the King of Essence’s time has come!

Wrath drooled as he stared at the dishes laid out on the plates.

“Why are you interrupting me!”

Evelyn glared at Judiel and wrinkled her nose.

“Everyone has been waiting for him, so at this point, eating is the only option.”

Judiel shook her head, saying that everyone in the annex building had been waiting for Raon and Raon alone.

“Uuugh….”

With nothing to say, Evelyn merely pouted.

“Let’s go.”

While the two were arguing, Raon washed his hands and entered the dining room. Unlike usual, every seat at the annex building’s dining table was occupied today.

“I’m back.”

Raon bowed toward the people seated around the rectangular dining table.

“You’re back early.”

Sylvia opened her eyes wide, surprised that he had returned sooner than expected.

“You could have taken a little longer.”

She smiled, saying that she would have kept waiting for him.

“I missed you!”

Sia tightly hugged Raon, saying that she was glad he had come back so soon.

“I-I was planning to wait until night, but I’m glad you came back early!”

Edgar shot a quick glance at the person sitting in the seat of honor, indicating that he was the one making Edgar uncomfortable.

"Because there is an important matter tomorrow."

Raon bowed his head, saying that he also needed to give the swordsmen some time.

“That’s right. Even if you’re fine, the others will need time.”

Rector patted Raon on the back, telling him that he had done well.

“You worked hard.”

Glenn, seated at the head at the very end of the table, slowly nodded.

“Thanks to you, I don’t think we’ll lose tomorrow.”

He smiled proudly, clearly aware of Raon’s plan to have the energy waves of Zieghart’s armed groups unleashed simultaneously.

“It was only a small gift.”

Raon gave a faint smile, saying that he simply wanted to give the Zieghart swordsmen who had worked so hard until now a small reward.

Hey, enough with the greetings! Let’s eat already!

Wrath drooled from his mouth, his eyes seemingly already crazed for the food.

“Now that Raon is here, let’s eat before the food gets cold.”

With Raon finally there, Glenn raised his fork first, saying that they should begin the meal right away.

“Father in law! I’ll serve you!”

Edgar suddenly sprang to his feet, apparently seeing an opportunity to score points with Glenn.

“That won’t be necessary.”

Glenn waved him away, then served some food himself and handed it to Sia.

“Thank you, Grandpa! I’ll eat this after I finish this!”

But Sia was already holding a lamb chop that Rector had served her.

“Heh heh.”

Rector curled his lips into a broad grin at Glenn, as though to say Glenn had been a step too late.

“Grrrrng!”

Glenn glared at Edgar, apparently annoyed that he had missed his chance to be the first one to give his granddaughter food.

“Hieek….”

Under Glenn’s chilly gaze, Edgar let out a strained breath, hunched his shoulders, and looked away.

“Haah, you two, please stop already.”

Sylvia shook her head from side to side, then ladled beef stew into a bowl and placed it in front of Raon.

“You two act like children. Don’t you think so?”

She shrugged, saying that this was what happened whenever Glenn and Rector were together.

“What do you mean, children!”

“I simply won.”

Glenn waved his hand, as though that was absolutely not the case, while Rector grinned, apparently pleased that Sia had eaten the food he had given her first.

“What exactly did you win?”

“About which of us Sia loves more….”

“Grandpas! You should try some of this too!”

While Rector and Glenn were bickering, Evelyn held out one of her original dishes as though she intended to take advantage of the situation and score some points herself.

However, it looked and smelled so unappetizing that they did not even want to eat it.

“Uh, well….”

“Gasp!”

The moment the two saw Evelyn’s food, their appetites seemed to vanish completely. They let out sharp breaths and pushed their chairs back. The little quarrel, which even Sylvia could not stop, finally came to an end.

“I like this one too.”

Raon smiled as he ate the annex building’s stew, the same as always.

Uuuugh! Excellent! Starting with stew to warm your belly is a fine choice!

Wrath patted Raon on the shoulder, urging him to hurry up and eat the other dishes as well.

As Raon ate the delicious stew and met Sylvia’s warm gaze as she watched him eat, memories of his childhood came back to him.

The dining table had once been spacious but empty. Now it was filled with people.

And every one of them was someone precious to him.

‘I have to protect them.’

Raon clenched his fist beneath the table as he looked at his family reflected in the stew.

‘My family.’
