The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1384
Chapter 1384
Ruuuuuuumble!
Across the Cameloon Plain, Archangels and Demon Kings clashed, twisting heaven and earth.
Gold coins falling from a set of scales piled up into a mountain, a blackened blade tore through space, and hundreds of bolts of lightning surged from the ground into the sky.
“Kill the monsters!”
“Swing your swords for the continent!”
“Exterminate the humans!”
“For the restoration!”
Even amid the earth-shaking battle, the warriors of the Five Kings Alliance and Eden’s demons showed no regard for their own safety. With their respective convictions engraved in their hearts, they gave everything they had to kill their enemies.
When Transcenders or Absolutes fought, warriors with comparatively weaker might would normally lose heart, but war was different.
The warriors of the Five Kings, Eden’s demons, and even celestials all risked their lives and swung their weapons at the enemy as though they themselves were the protagonists of the war.
However, amid the battlefield where the bloodshed and heat continued to intensify, there was one person who alone maintained his composure.
“Haa.”
Burren calmly regulated his breathing and relaxed the hand gripping his sword.
‘This situation….’
He frowned as he looked around the Light Wind swordsmen, where many of its executives had left.
‘I wasn’t told about this.’
I naturally knew that Raon had planned from the beginning to summon the Demon Kings and have them fight the Archangels. However, I never expected those Demon Kings to take the Light Wind Palace executives connected to them along with them.
‘Martha, Runaan, Dorian, and even Krein….’
Martha and Runaan were each squad leaders responsible for their own squads, while Krein and Dorian, though not squad leaders, filled roles above that of ordinary team leaders and were responsible for the core of the formation. All four who had left were in positions that involved leading subordinates, so the situation was not good.
‘Mark Goetten and Trevin have separate duties.’
Mark Goetten is Raon’s guardian and has always acted independently, while Trevin, the leader of the Warring Steel Division, has always commanded only the Warring Steel Division. I can’t expect help from either of them right now.
‘And of course, Raon can’t move either.’
Raon had begun fighting Uriel, who appeared to be the strongest among the Archangels. Asking him for help was absolutely out of the question.
‘So this means I have to do it alone in the end….’
Burren lightly bit his lip as he looked at the celestials filling the sky.
‘I almost wish I had gone too….’
I’ve also received the authority of pride, so if Pride appeared here, I’d fight alongside him and wouldn’t have to trouble myself with such complicated thoughts. Having to lead the entire Light Wind Palace alone is a burden.
‘A burden? No, that’s not it!’
Burren firmly shook his head to erase the ominous thoughts filling his mind.
‘This is actually a chance to show what I can do.’
I received the authority of pride, the Monarch of Pride, who is among the strongest of the Seven Deadly Sins. If only to be worthy of that power, I can’t allow myself to entertain such weak thoughts.
‘Do it.’
Not merely give it a try, he would accomplish it no matter what. With that resolve, Burren raised his head. As though affirming his resolve, the authority of pride that had lain deep within his soul slowly opened its eyes and began granting him its power.
“Light Wind Palace, hear me!”
Burren turned toward the Light Wind swordsmen and stamped his foot. Tremendous power surged through his pride-infused foot, gouging a large crater into the ground.
“The Palace Master is not here! The executives who led you are not here either. But!”
Seeing the gazes of the Light Wind swordsmen waver, he stomped the ground once more.
“I am!”
Burren raised his fist and struck his own chest hard enough that it seemed he would shatter it.
“I will lead you to victory!”
Burren’s unwavering will amplified the authority of pride he had received from Pride even further, and a dignity surpassing that of a Transcender settled over his entire body.
“We will follow you!”
“Just give us your orders!”
The Light Wind swordsmen seemed awed by the confidence and dignity Burren displayed. Their unease vanished, and their eyes burned with fighting spirit.
“Our objective is the celestials.”
Burren let out a heavy breath and raised his sword.
“Ignore Eden’s demons and the monsters. Focus only on the celestials!”
Following Raon’s orders, he shouted for them to direct their swords only at the celestials and turned his gaze to the right.
“We strike the right side first! Light Wind Palace, form up!”
Burren pointed his sword toward the celestials attacking Owen’s flank from the right.
“Charge in the Wind Fang Spear Formation!”
After ordering them into the formation that charged forward in a sharp, spear-like shape, he moved out in front.
“They’re Zieghart’s insects!”
“Stab every last one of them to death!”
The celestials changed direction from their attack on the Owen Kingdom and fired chilling divine power toward Burren and the Light Wind Palace.
Claaaaang!
With a single swing of his sword, Burren cut apart the divine power fired by the celestials and narrowed his eyes.
‘They haven’t formed their battle line.’
The celestials had been attacking Owen and then hurriedly moved toward the Light Wind swordsmen, leaving them without proper positions.
“Flash Wind!”
When Burren stopped at the front and gave the order, the Light Wind swordsmen, who had formed a battle line as sharp as a spearhead, split into groups of four and charged toward the celestials.
“Hmph!”
“Scattering only makes you easier to kill!”
“Fools!”
The Celestials sneered as though looking down on the Light Wind swordsmen and thrust out their spears blazing with divine power.
Slaaaaaash!
Wrapped in blue wind, the Light Wind swordsmen surged forward at more than twice their previous speed and slashed through the necks of the celestials who had let their guard down.
“Uh….”
“W-What is….”
“Ghk….”
Caught off guard by the sudden increase in the Light Wind swordsmen’s speed, the celestials had their necks and hearts cut apart without even managing to swing their weapons properly.
“Ghhhhh!”
“F-Fall back and reform the battle lines!”
“Don’t face them head-on!”
As the celestials tried to retreat quickly under the orders of the mid-ranking angels, Burren advanced once more.
“Flying Wolf Needle.”
At Burren’s command, the Light Wind swordsmen began moving separately, as though they had abandoned maintaining the formation in order to catch the fleeing celestials.
“They’ve scattered!”
“Their formation has broken!”
“Now! Kill the humans!”
The mid-ranking angels seemed to see the Light Wind Palace breaking formation and scattering as an opportunity. They shouted for another charge and gripped their spears of divine power.
Whaaaaaam!
A smile formed on Burren’s lips as he watched the celestials rush toward the Light Wind swordsmen while radiating intense divine power.
“They fell for it.”
Burren nodded and raised his sword toward the sky. The feet of the Light Wind swordsmen who had been moving separately became connected by streams of blue wind.
Puhbuhbuhbuhbuck!
The Light Wind swordsmen rode forward on wind as chilling as a blade and effortlessly severed the necks of the celestials who had frozen in shock.
“W-What is this….”
The mid-ranking angel’s lips trembled, unable to believe that his subordinates had been slaughtered in an instant.
“Flying Wolf Needle isn’t a formation that requires us to break formation.”
Burren shook his head as he looked at the mid-ranking angel trembling in bewilderment.
“It’s a sharp trap that provokes idiots like you celestials, draws you in, and then cuts you off at the ankles.”
At a glance, Flying Wolf Needle appeared to dissolve the formation and have its members move chaotically, but in reality, it was a type of formation that concealed the flow of the formation beneath their feet while increasing their movement speed. Just now, Burren had used Flying Wolf Needle to lure in the celestials, then shifted into the Enemy-Slaying Soul Formation, which strongly activated the formation’s power and allowed them to cut down the celestials by the neck.
“N-No way….”
The mid-ranking angel’s lips trembled.
“How can foolish humans….”
He ground his teeth in fury at unexpectedly losing his subordinates.
“We came here to kill celestials.”
Burren lightly regulated his breathing and raised his sword.
“If you did not prepare in advance, you will never defeat us.”
Recalling the training to kill celestials while getting beaten up countless times by Raon, he nodded heavily.
“S-Shut up! A mere human like you has no right to address me so freely!”
Once again speaking contemptuously of humans, the mid-ranking angel thrust out his spear of divine power.
Claaaaang!
Burren concentrated the power of the Light Wind Formation into himself and effortlessly knocked aside the mid-ranking angel’s fierce attack.
“Th-This can’t… Gah!”
Burren did not miss the opening created by the mid-ranking angel’s shock. He charged straight in and shattered his chest.
“Ghhhh….”
The mid-ranking angel trembled all over as though unable to believe his own death before collapsing.
“Haaaah….”
Burren regulated his breathing just as he had at the beginning and surveyed the dead celestials.
‘More than a hundred celestials are dead. As for us….’
He narrowed his eyes as he looked over the Light Wind swordsmen.
‘Only about five suffered minor injuries.’
Despite killing more than a hundred celestials, the Light Wind Palace had suffered only around five minor injuries, none serious enough to interfere with fighting. It was, quite literally, an overwhelming victory.
“Amazing.”
The Warring Steel Division leader Trevin let out a hollow laugh.
“Your command ability is already at a Palace Master’s level, isn’t it?”
He grinned, saying that Burren’s command ability was not inferior even to Raon’s.
“I’m surprised as well.”
Mark Goetten also nodded, expressing admiration for Burren’s command ability.
“No.”
Burren firmly shook his head.
“If the Palace Master hadn’t trained us in how to fight the celestials, our losses would have been much greater.”
It’s true that I completely outplayed the mid-ranking angel tactically, but the celestials possess such tremendous might that, under normal circumstances, even if the Light Wind Palace had won, quite a few of its members should have been seriously wounded.
However, because Raon trained the Light Wind Palace in how to deal with the celestials before the war, we were able to achieve an overwhelming victory.
“That man is a monster in the truest sense of the word. I still can’t catch up to him.”
Burren looked up at the sky, admitting that he still fell short of Raon not only in might, but in tactics as well.
“However….”
He clenched his fist while watching Raon not being pushed back a single inch against Uriel.
“Someday, just as you said, I intend to surpass him one thing at a time.”
Burren nodded with conviction, declaring that he would catch up to Raon in both command ability and might.
“Ho!”
“That is a fine resolve.”
Trevin exclaimed in admiration, while Mark Goetten gave a faint smile, seemingly pleased by Burren’s confidence.
“Let’s move on. We don’t have time to rest.”
Burren raised his sword as he looked at the celestials targeting the Holy Kingdom of Schper.
“Yes!”
“Let’s go!”
“Prove the power of the Light Wind!”
The Light Wind swordsmen shouted as though confident that, under Burren’s command, they could defeat any number of celestials, and followed him toward the Holy Kingdom of Schper’s formation.
‘Father….’
As Burren led the Light Wind Palace forward, he turned his gaze to the right, where he could sense Karoon’s energy.
‘He’ll be able to win, right?’
Karoon’s opponent was a monster who had learned martial arts from the Heavenly Demon. Burren trusted him, but the name Heavenly Demon carried far too much weight for him not to worry.
‘No.’
Burren firmly shook his head.
‘Right now, all I can do is trust him and keep moving!’
Just like Raon, Karoon was a warrior who never betrayed the trust placed in him. What Burren had to do now was trust everyone and focus only on what he himself needed to accomplish.
“Let’s go!”
Burren raised his sword, erasing the ominous thoughts flashing through his mind.
“Fight! Today is the day the Mad Wind shatters Heaven!”

Ruuuuuuumble!
At the center of a bizarre battlefield, Eden’s executives stood in a circle.
A middle-aged man with blond hair and red eyes was down on one knee. His condition appeared poor, and his sword hand trembled faintly as he bit his lip.
“Karoon Zieghart.”
Opposite the middle-aged man, Eden’s Death Sword Spirit, wearing a helmet shaped like a woman of peerless beauty, exhaled a cold breath.
Burren’s concern seemed to have been well founded. Karoon, the master of Zieghart’s Central Martial Palace and a swordsman who walked the path of domination, remained unable to rise, breathing heavily as though he had been defeated by the Death Sword Spirit.
“Admit defeat.”
The Death Sword Spirit muttered that it was over, her cold eyes gleaming.
“Defeat….”
Karoon slowly rose, using his sword like a cane.
“I have seen a warrior who never surrendered to defeat. I envied him enough to want to kill him, spent countless nights over several months trying to catch up to him, and eventually came to respect him almost as much as my father.”
A gentle smile appeared on his lips as though he were thinking of someone.
“After fighting a man like that, do you really think I would admit defeat here?”
Karoon raised his sword, which had stopped trembling, and gave a twisted smile.
“I am Karoon Zieghart, Master of Zieghart’s Central Martial Palace, and the man who once competed with Raon Zieghart for the position of successor!”
He raised his chin as though proud of having once competed with Raon for the position of successor.
“Until I lose to him again….”
Karoon raised his sword, which rang with a quiet sword resonance, and pointed it at the Death Sword Spirit.
“I will not lose to anyone.”
