The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1360
Chapter 1360
Fwoooooosh!
Golden cracks spread across the Black Dragon Coat, and black scales began to fall away one after another like dew dripping from beneath the eaves.
‘This mark….’
Raon swallowed hard as he stared at the cracks etched across the Black Dragon Coat.
‘It’s the First Head of House’s sword strike!’
There was no doubt that the sword strike the First Head of House had unleashed at him through the Holy Sword Alliance’s divine relic had sliced through the Black Dragon Coat.
‘Is this… the sword strike that cleaves the world?’
A swordsman from a thousand years ago had cut a swordsman a thousand years later. A sword that changed the laws of the world. Experiencing it firsthand was so absurd that it sent a shiver down Raon’s spine.
‘Thank you.’
Raon could feel the First Head of House’s sword strike not only in the Black Dragon Coat, but also in his own soul. Thanks to experiencing it firsthand, he felt that he could reach the First Head of House’s realm as much as ten years sooner.
‘But….’
Raon narrowed his eyes as he watched the Black Dragon Coat burning from the First Head of House’s sword strike.
‘Did you really have to burn it this thoroughly?’
At the First Head of House’s level, he could have simply let me experience his swordsmanship, so it was a little unfortunate that he had completely torn apart and burned the Black Dragon Coat. More than half of the coat had been cut away and burned, so restoring it would be quite difficult.
‘No, it couldn’t be helped.’
When there was something to gain, there was also something to lose. It was truly unfortunate, but it seemed that he would not be able to use the Black Dragon Coat in this war.
‘Sorry. I’ll definitely restore you later… Hmm?’
Raon was about to take off the Black Dragon Coat when his eyes widened.
‘The heat is resonating with the Ring of Fire!’
The Ring of Fire and the Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation were resonating with the flames burning the Black Dragon Coat as though they were conversing with them.
‘Could it be….’
Raon slowly steadied his breathing and circulated the Ring of Fire and the Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation.
Wh-what is this!
Wrath screamed when he saw the Black Dragon Coat suddenly catch fire.
No matter how hungry the King of Essence is, he will not eat your hide!
He frantically shook his head, saying that Raon didn’t need to burn himself just to feed him.
“R-Raon! Are you all right?”
Rector also widened his eyes in surprise.
“Take that coat off immediately!”
He waved his hand, saying that the flames burning the Black Dragon Coat were dangerous.
“I’m fine.”
Raon grabbed the Black Dragon Coat he had been about to take off and shook his head.
“These flames aren’t dangerous.”
As he gave a calm smile, the flames on the Black Dragon Coat grew more intense, and new scales sprouted over the ones that had fallen away.
Ssszzzzzt!
The dark-red scales were dyed black again, like a moonless night. Strangely, however, a very faint golden radiance bloomed across them. Even though the sun had not fully risen yet, it looked as though sunlight were shining down on the scales.
‘The Black Dragon Coat….’
Raon narrowed his eyes as he ran his fingers over the coat’s new scales.
‘The heat has seeped into it.’
A powerful heat emanated from the Black Dragon Coat itself, and that heat was resonating with the Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation and the Ring of Fire. It felt as though he had gained another energy center.
“Hmm….”
Rector’s jaw trembled as he seemed to finally sense the change in the Black Dragon Coat as well.
“Even seeing it with my own eyes, it is hard to believe. What in the world happened?”
“Apparently….”
Raon gave a faint smile as he looked at the divine relic of the Holy Sword Alliance.
“The divine relic seems to have given me one more gift.”
Since it seemed to be the First Head of House’s final gift to him, Raon bowed his head toward the man who he felt was watching from afar.
“The divine relic?”
Rector looked at the divine relic again, but it had now returned to looking like nothing more than a broken mirror, showing no reaction whatsoever.
Wh-wow….
Wrath’s jaw dropped as he stared at the Black Dragon Coat.
If it had simply had a golden sheen, it would’ve looked tacky, but the gold has seeped into it so subtly that it is reaaally cool!
Rarely, he actually praised Raon’s clothing, swallowing hard.
Give that coat to the King of Essence! It is a mystical treasure that you cannot possibly pull off!
Wrath vigorously shook his head, saying that Raon could not pull off the Black Dragon Coat. He had called the Black Dragon Coat tacky when he first saw it, so seeing how drastically his reaction had changed, Raon could tell that he really liked it.
‘With that body?’
Raon wrinkled his nose as he looked at Wrath, who was the very definition of cotton candy.
Th-that body?! Even if the King of Essence wore a sackcloth, no one could hide the King of Essence’s dignity. The King of Essence can pull off that coat even in this state!
‘Is that so.’
Raon ignored Wrath with his usual reaction and looked back at Rector.
“Thank you once again.”
Raon bowed his head once more to Rector in gratitude for the fortuitous opportunity he had given him, then returned the mirror that had been imbued with the First Head of House’s sword strike.
“You don’t need to say such things between grandfather and grandson. We’re paternal grandfather and grandson, aren’t we?!”
Rector curled his lips into a smile, emphasizing that he was Raon’s paternal grandfather, as though trying to one-up Glenn.
“That’s right.”
Raon chuckled at Rector’s smile.
“Let’s go now.”
Rector pointed toward the annex building, whose chimney was once again sending smoke into the air.
“Your mother must have been waiting eagerly for you by now.”
He grabbed Raon by the shoulder, saying that his family must have been waiting for him in the annex building the entire time.
“Yes. I’m hungry too.”
Feeling the warmth from Rector’s hand, Raon walked toward the annex building, which was beginning to bask in the sunlight.
That thing isn’t something that suits you, he’s telling you!
Wrath clung to the Black Dragon Coat, licking his lips hungrily. Seeing him talk about clothes instead of food for once, Raon felt that the coat really must look good.
You bastard! Answer me!

“Phew….”
Krein stopped mid-swing and looked back toward the training ground’s door.
“Hup!”
He practiced his swordsmanship a few more times before turning his gaze toward the door again and swallowing dryly.
“What are you doing?”
Martha frowned as she watched Krein unable to concentrate.
“What are you so afraid of that you can’t focus and keep staring at the door!”
Her voice was cold, as though telling him to keep training like this if he wanted to die.
“Krein.”
Burren also seemed to have been watching Krein, as he narrowed his eyes into blade-like slits.
“If you’re afraid of the war, should I send you to the lord’s manor right now?”
He muttered coldly that if Krein did not want to stay here, he should go to Zieghart’s group training instead.
“You can go... The war is dangerous, so...”
Runaan also said that failing to concentrate at a time like this was dangerous as she lowered and then raised her eyes.
“N-no!”
Krein frantically shook his head.
“It’s not the war I’m afraid of!”
He bit his lip, insisting that he was not afraid of something like war at all.
“Nonsense.”
“Always slacking off!”
Burren and Martha snorted, clearly not believing Krein’s words.
“Y-yeah.”
Dorian came over beside Krein and sighed.
“Krein isn’t afraid of the war. He’s afraid of something else.”
He nodded, confirming that Krein was telling the truth.
“What?”
“What is it?”
Burren and Martha lowered their chins, telling him to go on.
“O-our palace master.”
Krein turned toward the door again, his eyes trembling.
“He definitely returned yesterday, but he still hasn’t shown up here! There’s definitely something going on!”
He bit his lip, saying that Raon was not the kind of person to give them this much free time.
“Come to think of it, that’s true….”
Martha also slightly lowered her brows, as though the time Raon was supposed to arrive had already passed.
“Sniff, sniff….”
Runaan closed her eyes and began sniffing as though she were trying to find Raon.
“That isn't something to worry about.”
Burren firmly shook his head.
“What matters is training with everything we have so that nothing goes wrong when the palace master arrives, and so that we can withstand whatever training he puts us through.”
He strongly smacked Krein on the shoulder, telling him not to worry about Raon and to focus his efforts on training.
“Aagh!”
Krein screamed as he clutched his shoulder.
“You've certainly gotten sharper. But you're right.”
Martha gave Burren a smirk.
“And don’t worry too much. This guy will warn us before Raon arrives.”
She shrugged, telling Krein to trust Dorian’s Mind’s Eye.
“Th-that’s right! I'm counting on you, Dorian!”
Krein smacked his lips as he looked at Dorian, as though expecting him to warn them again.
“Don’t get your hopes up too much.”
Dorian swallowed hard and shook his head.
“I’ve been telling you, even I’ve had a hard time sensing his presence lately….”
Just as he sighed, saying that even Raon’s thoughts and presence had become difficult for him to read—
“What are you doing, not training at a time like this?”
Raon was standing between Burren, Martha, Runaan, Krein, and Dorian, his brows furrowed.
“Gyaaaaaaah!”
Krein screamed when Raon suddenly appeared before them, even though he hadn’t blinked.
“P-Palace master?”
Dorian also gaped in surprise, as though he hadn't expected Raon.
“W-when did you get here?”
His chin trembled as he said that he had been using his Mind’s Eye with all his might, yet he had sensed absolutely nothing.
“Y-you! How did you…? You came right next to me, and I couldn't sense you at all?”
Martha looked so shocked that she nearly dropped the sword in her hand.
“Hmm….”
Burren couldn't say a word, but his violently trembling eyes spoke for him.
“Raon…?”
Runaan blinked at Raon.
“I couldn’t smell you at all…? No, even now….”
She tilted her head, still unable to smell Raon.
“But you changed your clothes…? They look better than before….”
Runaan was the only one who noticed the change in the Black Dragon Coat, and the corners of her lips lifted ever so slightly.
“It feels like something about you has changed?”
“That's right. You feel like you're not even here.”
“It's completely different from the head of house. I can't even sense that you're strong.”
The Light Wind swordsmen also let out breathy exclamations, unable to comprehend the change in Raon.
“I was mistaken.”
Raon lightly brushed his palms off as he slowly began walking around the training ground.
“Seeing that everyone has enough energy to chat, I should have made you undergo the Zieghart group training as well as individual training.”
He clutched his temple, regretting that he had spared them the Zieghart group training.
“Especially since there is someone who cannot concentrate.”
Raon said there was someone who could not concentrate, and looked at Krein with a chilling gaze.
“Hic!”
Krein hiccuped as he sensed the blade hidden within Raon's gentle gaze.
“N-no! Not at all!”
“Aside from Krein, the rest of us truly did our best!”
“That's right! We even stayed up all night swinging our swords yesterday!”
The swordsmen vigorously shook their heads, insisting that they had trained with everything they had.
“No.”
Raon firmly lowered his gaze.
“The Light Wind Palace is always one. If even one person failed to concentrate, it is no different from everyone failing to concentrate.”
He clenched his fist, saying that it was truly unfortunate.
“Therefore, with less than a week remaining, I will personally train all of you.”
Raon curled his lips into a smile, saying that he would have them undergo new training during the remaining time.
“N-no!”
“You said the training we did before was definitely the last….”
“Aaah, it's all ruined because of Krein!”
The swordsmen’s eyes glistened with tears as they felt hell descend upon them.
“Krein!”
"We should've kicked that bastard out long ago!"
"Damn it! We're screwed! I hate this more than the war!"
Several of the swordsmen even pounded the floor, blaming Krein.
"Ahhh…."
Krein was already out of his mind, kneeling on the floor and letting out a thin groan like an old man on the verge of death.
"This training will truly be something new. Perhaps…."
Raon nodded with a smile that looked more sinister than merely cold.
"You might even meet our ancestor from a thousand years ago?"
