The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1381

 Chapter 1381

Ruuuuumble!

Meteors blazing with blood and fire continued to fall from the blackened sky, enormous tsunamis surged in from the western and eastern coasts, and poisonous flowers endlessly bloomed from the ground, choking the breath from humanity.

However, unlike their sinister titles as Demon Kings, the Monarchs of the Demon Realm summoned by Raon stood on humanity’s side and utterly destroyed every disaster the Archangels had brought forth.

“Darling! I’m here!”

Lust waved to Raon as she trampled the poisonous flowers that Archangel Sariel had summoned.

“I did well, right?”

She paid no attention to anyone else present and looked only at Raon.

“Grrr….”

Sariel glared at Lust and ground her teeth against her lips.

“That gutter-dwelling bitch!”

Enraged by Lust’s appearance, which drew in not only the gazes of men but women as well, she bit her lip hard enough to draw blood.

“Who are you calling darling!”

Evelyn furrowed her brow as she gripped the pink flower bracelet.

“Raon is mine!”

She snorted, declaring she will absolutely never hand him over.

“Oh! This will be fun!”

Lust gave Evelyn a thin smile.

“Let’s have a match later!”

She ran a finger over her lips, suggesting that they have a proper fight after this war was over.

“Ha….”

Ha….

Raon and Wrath sighed at the same time. Even the meaning behind their sighs seemed identical as they looked at each other and blinked.

“Since when….”

Archangel Uriel chewed on his lip as he glared at Raon.

“Since when have you been preparing to summon those lowly creatures?”

He stared at the three Demon Kings gathered together, still unable to comprehend what he was seeing.

“No, how did you even manage to gather those vermin?”

Archangel Uriel’s eyes trembled as though the great being he had been moments ago had turned into an ordinary human.

“Even during the Divine-Demon War, they all acted independently!”

Overwhelmed by a situation beyond his understanding, he even began demanding an explanation from Raon.

“Well?”

Raon pulled three flower bracelets out from beneath the sleeve of his uniform.

“I just asked them to help. They simply came.”

He shrugged, claiming that he had not done anything himself.

Simply came, my ass!

Wrath furrowed his brow in disbelief.

You went to each and every one of them and used threats and persuasion! What do you mean, they simply came!

He snorted, telling Raon to stop pretending it had been that simple.

“Everything about you, from beginning to end, is infuriating.”

Uriel glared at Raon as though he wanted to kill him, then let out a harsh breath.

“Fine! Let us see just how far you can go!”

He turned around as though declaring that they would continue.

“Raphael. It’s your turn.”

Uriel nodded to Raphael, telling him to blow the fourth Horn Trumpet.

“As you command.”

Raphael touched the spear strapped to his back with his fingertips before raising the Horn Trumpet at his waist.

Wooooooong!

As Raphael blew the Horn Trumpet while enveloped in sacred light, a gloomy chill completely at odds with his appearance slowly began to rise.

Whoooooosh!

The brilliant light blooming in the sky was cut in half, and darkness filled the entire world as though night had fallen. Beneath that darkness, silver frost began to form, chilling the earth that was filled with the heat of battle.

“Huff! Huff!”

“C-Cold….”

“A cold that can’t even be driven away with aura!”

“Even the north never had cold like this….”

Not only the warriors of the Five Kings, but even the demons of Eden found the cold so unbearable that merely holding their weapons became painful. The fourth Horn Trumpet that heralded the apocalypse seemed to have brought an unbearable cold upon the earth.

“….”

Uriel looked at Raon with cold, sunken eyes, as though asking what he would do now.

“Cold….”

Raon gave a faint laugh and shook his head.

“You really are trying everything.”

He clicked his tongue as he looked at the ground being covered in silver frost.

“Of course, it’s not much of a threat.”

Raon smacked his lips as he pulled out a light green flower bracelet shaped as though two snakes were biting each other’s tails.

Wooooooong!

Just as the silver frost began to spread rapidly as though it would consume the world, light green flames bloomed from beneath the shattered earth. No, they were not flames, but a gigantic serpent wreathed in fire.

Kugugugugugugu!

As the gigantic serpent approached with an elegant, gliding motion, its emerald eyes gleaming, the apocalyptic frost that had been freezing the earth began to melt into clear droplets of water.

Whoooooooosh!

The gigantic serpent opened its maw and breathed out a green breath, wiping away all the cold, even the frost that had spread beyond the battlefield and was reaching out into the world.

Strangely, however, the flames, hot enough to melt that dreadful frost, had no effect on the humans at all.

“Hmph!”

The light-green-haired figure sitting cross-legged atop the gigantic serpent’s head gave a coquettish snort.

“If you want to freeze the world, bring that damned <Wrath> with you.”

The Monarch of Envy, who had shattered one of the pillars of devildom with green flames and opened the path to a new throne. Though young, a blazing light hotter than anyone else’s flashed in the Demon King’s eyes.

Envy said it perfectly!

Wrath exclaimed as he looked at Envy, the Monarch of Envy.

To freeze the world, you have to be at least on the King of Essence’s level!

He smacked his lips, pleased that Envy had acknowledged him.

“Thanks!”

Martha waved to Envy while holding the light green flower bracelet wreathed in flames.

“Hmph! I didn’t do it for you.”

Envy clicked her tongue as she looked at Raon and the Archangels standing in the sky.

“Everyone I dislike just happens to be gathered here.”

She clicked his tongue as though she disliked not only the Archangels, but Raon as well.

“When someone thanks you, at least answer nicely!”

Martha ground her teeth, voicing her displeasure even to a Demon King.

“E-Even Envy, the Demon King of Envy!”

Ramiel drew in a sharp breath, visibly tense.

“This is getting troublesome….”

Raguel sighed as he stepped forward.

“Uriel. I’ll blow it this time.”

He raised his golden scales into the air and gripped the Horn Trumpet.

“….”

Uriel kept his eyes fixed on Raon, showing no intention of stopping Raguel.

“I shall bring the true end upon the insects that should no longer exist in this world.”

As he placed the Horn Trumpet to his lips, the light shining behind him like a halo radiated an even more brilliant glow.

Wooooooong!

Raguel’s Horn Trumpet carried a deep, heavy sound, as though it were coming not from this world, but from a cavern far, far away. The metallic sound of the scales mingled with the weighty trumpet call, creating an even more eerie atmosphere.

Boom!

A tremendous crash rang out as though a giant had stomped upon the earth.

Kugugugugugugung!

It did not happen only once. With a majestic rumbling like thousands of giants marching forward at once, the center of the battlefield collapsed in a circle, as though the peel were being cut from an apple, and an enormous pit opened in the earth.

It was an enormous pit whose bottom could not be seen even in the light, vast enough to hold tens of thousands of people at once with room to spare. The name “bottomless abyss” suited it perfectly, but everyone here was an outstanding warrior, so not many were caught by the collapsing ground.

“I-Is that all?”

“This apocalypse isn’t much compared to the others?”

“Looks like even the Archangels have finally run out of strength!”

Unlike the previous disasters, Raguel’s Horn Trumpet had failed to cause any major change, and the warriors of the Five Kings cheered in delight.

“Let’s fight!”

“Victory is really within sight now!”

“Kill Eden and the celestials… Huh?”

Just as the Five Kings Alliance burned with fighting spirit and prepared to charge at Eden and the celestials—

Kiiiiiiiiiii!

A chilling sound that made their skin crawl rose from within the bottomless abyss. It sounded like something kicking off the ground or wings beating through the air, but there were far too many of them.

“What is that sound… Huh!”

A swordsman approached the bottomless abyss to find the source of the sound, only for something pitch-black to rise above his head.

But it was not a single creature. A swarm of locusts with bloodshot eyes instantly tore the flesh from the warrior’s entire body and sucked his blood.

Behind the human corpse that fell into the bottomless abyss with nothing but bones remaining, countless locusts surged upward.

Even Raon and the Archangels could not count the number of locusts. Just as no one could count the droplets of water falling from a waterfall, there was no way to describe them except as innumerable.

“Th-They’re just locusts!”

“Kill them all!”

The warriors and mages unleashed a barrage of aura-clad swords and magic, but there were simply too many locusts, and they were even resistant to magic and aura. The Five Kings Alliance’s battle lines collapsed in an instant. In the blink of an eye, dozens of warriors had already fallen, reduced to bare skeletons.

“M-Monsters!”

“Magic doesn’t work on them!”

“What kind of locusts are those!”

“They’re demon locusts….”

Terrified by the swarms of locusts surging forward like a tsunami and reducing humans to nothing but bones, the people could only retreat.

“Behold. That is a fitting end for vermin.”

Raguel nodded in satisfaction.

“I’ll kill you the same way, so….”

Raon furrowed his brow as he gripped the golden flower bracelet.

“So bare your neck and wait.”

The moment he raised his hand, telling Raon to wait—

Gooooooooooo!

A golden sphere, even more brilliant and vivid than the Archangels, appeared in the sky. The light, shaped like a perfectly round gold coin, descended very slowly toward the bottomless abyss.

Wooooooooo!

The moment the golden sphere shone even more intensely directly above the bottomless abyss, the locusts that had burst forth to wipe this world away began to be sucked into it.

The monstrous locusts that had repelled aura and deflected magic spread their wings, sharp as blades, and tried to escape, but they could not overcome the powerful suction generated by the sphere.

Every last locust that had emerged onto the surface, along with those that continued to pour out of the bottomless abyss, was sucked into the sphere of light.

Snap!

The instant the crisp sound of fingers snapping rang out from the sky, the sphere of light that had swallowed all the locusts erupted with an eerie radiance and exploded.

Kwa-gwagwagwaga!

As the shockwave shook heaven and earth, glittering gold coins rained down and formed a golden bridge in midair.

A handsome man dressed like a gentleman stepped onto the bridge of scorched gold coins with a faint smile.

“To stop an Archangel’s apocalypse, about a hundred million gold.”

The greatest and most powerful plutocrat in devildom. A being possessed of the bottomless desire to become the greatest tycoon across all dimensions. The King of Gold, who had bought the throne of devildom with gold ingots, once again set foot upon the continent.

“Isn’t that a little cheap?”

The Monarch of Greed, Greed, took a sip of the tea in his hand with a refreshing smile. He looked more out of place on this battlefield than anyone else, yet a golden fighting spirit unlike anyone else’s was blooming from him.

“G-Greed too?”

Raguel’s lips trembled, as though he truly had never imagined that Greed would appear.

“He’s one of the three strongest!”

He looked at Uriel with a distorted expression, protesting that this made no sense.

“Don’t worry.”

Uriel drew in a sharp breath and shook his head.

“Pride will never come. And neither will Wrath.”

He turned back to Gabriel with a look indicating this was the last one.

“Will that really be so...”

Gabriel finally opened her mouth for the first time as she gripped the Horn Trumpet.

“What will happen?”

With a calm gaze that showed she did not care whether Wrath or Pride appeared, she placed the Horn Trumpet to her lips. She looked more like the leader than Uriel did.

“That’s right. Pride won’t come. But….”

Raon gave a short laugh as he looked at Uriel.

“Wrath is already here.”

“That’s a lie.”

Uriel firmly shook his head.

“Wrath can’t come out! Blow the Horn Trumpet!”

He stretched out his hand toward Gabriel, ordering her to blow the sixth trumpet.

“Very well.”

Just as Gabriel was about to blow the Horn Trumpet and bring forth the sixth apocalypse—

Kwaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

From the already shattered and distorted sky, a noble, radiant cold surged forth, shattering the barrier of divine power created by the Archangels and even freezing the Horn Trumpet Gabriel was about to blow. A power that froze light and sound. It was the frost of <Wrath>.

“I told you. <Wrath> is already here.”

Raon lightly shook off the cold rising from his hand as a chilling gleam imbued with <Wrath> flashed in his eyes.

“I am Wrath.”
