The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1291

 Chapter 1291

After finishing all of the Light Wind Palace’s exhaustion training, Raon descended from North Grave Mountain and returned to the head of house’s training ground.

“Hngh!”

“Urgh…”

The swordsmen who had stayed behind to watch the Light Wind Palace’s training froze the moment they saw him, their entire bodies trembling as if death itself had appeared before them.

Step.

Raon crossed the deathly silence that had settled over the training ground like a library and climbed onto the platform.

“Did you watch carefully?”

He raised a finger toward the floating screens suspended in the air.

“Ah…”

“W-We…”

The swordsmen couldn’t answer right away and only swallowed dryly. It was no wonder. Every one of the dozen or so screens showed Light Wind Palace swordsmen collapsed unconscious, tears streaming from their eyes and foam spilling from their mouths.

Even Burren, Martha, and Runaan, a Transcender, had all ended up sprawled on the ground in the exact same pose, looking practically dead.

Fear was now plainly visible in the swordsmen’s eyes.

“No answer?”

Raon narrowed his eyes slightly, clearly displeased.

“N-No, sir!”

“We watched carefully!”

“I-It was perfect training!”

The swordsmen shouted at the top of their lungs, all remembering Krein’s battered face from the first time Raon had beaten him down.

Crazy bastard...

Wrath twisted his jaw in disbelief.

After seeing that, what idiot would dare say they don’t want to do it?!

He frowned deeply while pointing at Krein, who had collapsed with his tongue hanging out and eyes rolled back.

'It's just training,'

Raon shook his head calmly.

‘A special kind of training that I personally benefited from.’

Through this exhaustion training, he himself had raised the ranks of the Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation and Glacier, allowing him to reach a higher level.

If the swordsmen could experience what he had, it would greatly help their growth as well.

No….

Wrath let out a murky sigh and smacked a hand against his forehead.

That only worked because it was you, idiot!

He waved both arms furiously in frustration.

How many people in this world can push their bodies and minds so far that they collapse unconscious from sheer exhaustion?!

Wrath ground his teeth, telling him to use his brain for once.

‘Hardly any. You could probably count them on one hand.’

Then…!

‘Exactly. That’s why I stepped in myself.’

A cold smile spread across Raon’s lips as strength gathered at his fingertips.

‘Since it’s difficult for the swordsmen to do it on their own, I’m helping them.’

Knowing that, he clenched his fist tightly.

Creeeak.

The moment Raon clenched his fist, a terrifying pressure descended over the head of house’s training ground.

“Ghk!”

“Ugh….”

“I can barely breathe….”

The swordsmen bit down on their lips, struggling just to endure the pressure Raon was releasing so casually.

They don't exactly look like they want your help...

Wrath wrinkled his nose while glancing back and forth between the unconscious Light Wind Palace swordsmen and the others, whose faces had gone pale as though they were standing before an execution platform.

'As adults, we sometimes have to do things we don't want to do.’

Raon brushed Wrath aside, saying it couldn’t be helped.

“As the Light Wind Palace swordsmen demonstrated, all you need to do is pour every ounce of your swordsmanship, stamina, and mental strength into it. It’s not difficult.”

He calmly nodded while instructing the swordsmen gathered in the training ground to follow the same process the Light Wind Palace had endured.

“Do… do that exactly?”

“I really don’t want to….”

“I’d rather go fight a war right now….”

The swordsmen sniffled while staring at the still-unconscious swordsmen of the Light Wind Palace.

“Then….”

Raon stroked his chin as he looked down at them.

“Hngh!”

“Haaah….”

“Please….”

Desperate not to be chosen first, the swordsmen avoided Raon’s gaze and stared only at the ground or the sky.

"On second thought."

Raon closed his eyes briefly, then opened them again and tilted his chin.

“Just go up, all of you."

Rather than waiting one by one, he ordered everyone currently in the training ground to head up North Grave Mountain immediately.

“A-All of us?”

"Every single one of us...?"

“N-No way….”

The swordsmen’s jaws dropped in disbelief.

“Waiting around in hiding without knowing when your turn will come also drains a great deal of stamina and mental strength. That alone makes for decent training.”

Having already made up his mind, Raon stamped his foot lightly against the platform.

“All of you, move.”

He tapped the sheath of Heavenly Drive and ordered them to head for North Grave Mountain at once.

"Um, excuse me..."

Edgar slowly raised his hand, his eyes darting nervously around.

“We have to go too? I-I mean Sir… do we?”

He had nearly spoken casually out of habit before hurriedly switching to polite speech.

“Of course.”

Raon nodded while meeting the eyes of those who had learned martial arts in the annex building.

“Anyone who has trained in martial arts will participate without exception.”

He turned away after declaring that not only Sylvia, Sia, and Edgar, but even the maids training in martial arts would be joining as well.

“Seriously, why would you even ask that?!”

Sylvia smacked Edgar hard on the back as if the answer should have been obvious.

“Dad, are you stupid?”

Sia frowned in disbelief and lightly kicked Edgar in the shin with the tip of her foot.

“I-I was asking if there was some kind of special treatment for being his dad or his mom!”

Edgar grabbed his head with a miserable look, clearly trying to weasel his way out of the exhaustion training.

“Sir Edgar, that phrase is normally used the other way around, when the young master is asking you or Lady Sylvia for help because you’re his parents.”

Judiel slowly shook her head as if telling him to stop embarrassing himself.

“Move already! Stop embarrassing our son!”

Sylvia kicked Edgar in the rear and shoved him forward.

“Dad really is an idiot.”

Following Sylvia’s lead, Sia pushed Edgar along as they headed up North Grave Mountain.

“Aaaagh!”

“W-We’re doomed….”

“We might actually die today….”

Seeing even the annex building members, Raon’s own family, participate in the exhaustion training without complaint, the swordsmen cried out in despair.

As they stared at the still-unconscious Light Wind Palace swordsmen, they slowly dragged themselves toward North Grave Mountain as though heavy chains were wrapped around their ankles.

Some looked like they wanted to curse or resist, but with Raon standing right in front of them, not a single person dared show such stupidity.

“Well then….”

Raon lightly clapped his hands together in the now-empty training ground.

“I’ll be counting on you all again.”

He bowed his head to Roenn, Sheryl, the Sword Sovereign, the War King, and Aris, asking them to exhaust the swordsmen once more.

“Hahaha. Understood.”

“We’d be happy to!”

Roenn gave a gentle smile that said he would obey any order Raon gave, while Sheryl raised her fist with an excited grin.

“I was worried I might’ve gone a little overboard before, but after watching the acting head of house, I think I can push them even harder.”

“No, restrain yourself. If you go too far, they’ll die.” Top of Form

The Sword Sovereign smacked her lips as if she wanted to push them even harder, while the War King grabbed her shoulder and told her to stick to what she had already been doing.

“Of course! This is perfect for relieving stress!”

Aris Zieghart burst into a crazed laugh and sprinted toward the mountain as though she was actually enjoying this.

The women around here seem even crazier than the men….

Wrath shook his head, muttering that there were barely any normal people around Raon.

‘You might be right.’

Thinking of the women who suited the word insane far too well, Raon headed up North Grave Mountain last.

'Now, who should I tor—err, train first?'

Tor—! You definitely almost said torment! The King of Essence knew it!

Wrath ground his teeth as if he had finally caught him.

You’re using this training to relieve your personal stress—

Just as he sneered and raised a finger—

Crash!

A female swordsman with blazing red hair and lake-blue eyes dropped down from a tree near the foot of the mountain.

“Please train me.”

Serena, the leader of the Void Sword Division. Unlike the others, she didn’t try to hide. Instead, she had come to challenge him directly, asking to receive the training herself.

Swoooosh.

But Serena wasn’t the only one.

Behind her, more swordsmen revealed themselves, people who had chosen not to hide, but to fight instead.

‘See?’

Raon curled his lips upward as he sensed the competitive spirit and fighting intent blazing within Serena’s blue eyes.

‘This is exactly why I can’t stop doing this kind of training.’

He raised the scabbard of Heavenly Drive, saying he could never let down those who sought him out with nothing but a pure desire to become stronger.

Don’t give me that nonsense….

Wrath waved his hand roughly, telling him to stop lying.

The Light Wind kids challenged you nonstop at first too, but after getting beaten down over and over, now they’re all running away!

He ground his teeth as if he saw straight through him.

You’re only doing this because you enjoy it!

*   *   *

Only after two nights filled with screams had passed and the third sun risen did the exhaustion training finally come to an end.

The swordsmen who had once entered the training ground brimming with fighting spirit and confidence now sat collapsed on the ground, eyes unfocused and drool hanging from their mouths.

After pouring everything they had into the training for three straight days, they no longer seemed to have the strength even to speak or move.

Step.

Raon stood at the edge of the platform looking exactly the same as when he had first entered the head of house’s training ground.

“Well done.”

He slowly swept his gaze over the utterly exhausted swordsmen and nodded.

“You completed the exhaustion training even better than I expected. I’m genuinely proud.”

Raon smiled softly as he thanked them for enduring the training so well.

“Huuugh….”

“Eeeeh….”

“N-No….”

Most of the swordsmen didn’t even have the strength to answer properly and could only respond with weak groans. Even those capable of speaking stammered like children who had just learned how to talk.

“Get some proper rest today.”

Raon clapped his hands loudly and announced the training was over.

“Haaaah….”

“Ughhh!”

“I-it’s finally over….”

The swordsmen forced small smiles onto their faces as they struggled to rise, relieved that the training had finally ended.

“Ah, one more thing. The next exhaustion training session will be in ten days. This isn’t the kind of training that ends after just one round.”

Raon raised a finger as he calmly informed them that they would repeat the training again in ten days.

“Wh…?”

“A-Again?”

“H-He’s insane….”

The swordsmen stared at Raon with bloodshot eyes as though they had just heard something completely unimaginable.

If they could have, they looked ready to kill their acting head of house on the spot.

“And the five of you should stay behind as well. You’ll be undergoing exhaustion training too.”

Without even glancing at the swordsmen glaring at him murderously, Raon gestured toward Roenn, Sheryl, the Sword Sovereign, the War King, and Aris with a smile.

“W-We are too?”

“H-Haha…?”

Sheryl and Roenn stammered in shock.

“What? R-Right now?”

“Hooo….”

The Sword Sovereign took a step back as if she absolutely did not want to do it, while even the War King swallowed dryly in panic.

“I-I happen to have something important to do….”

The smile vanished from Aris’s face as she hurriedly stepped down from the platform.

“There are no exceptions. Head to North Grave Mountain immediately.”

Raon pointed toward the mountain and ordered them to begin at once.

In the head of house’s training ground packed with countless people, the only person who remained calm, unbothered, and smiling… was Raon alone.

This is exactly why….

Wrath shouted that this proved Raon truly had no understanding of human emotions.

You’re such a damn madman!

When Raon returned to the lord’s manor after finishing the second exhaustion training session, Chad, the leader of the Shadow Agents, burst through the doors as if he were about to break them off their hinges.

“H-Head of house!”

Having gone through the exhaustion training himself, Chad’s arms and legs trembled violently as he dropped to his knees in the center of the audience chamber.

“If it’s not urgent, you may rest first before reporting.”

Raon waved a hand, telling him to calm down.

“N-No, it’s urgent. No, it’s something worth risking our lives over!”

Declaring that it was more important than anything else, Chad roughly unfolded a crumpled document.

“The archangel, who vanished after Derus Robert’s death, has appeared!”
