The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1177
Chapter 1177
“Overwhelming….”
The Red Dragon Balasiur’s mouth fell wide open.
“He’s overwhelming the Lord? Does that even make sense?”
His lips trembled as he stared at Raon, who had pierced straight through the Dragon Lord’s abdomen.
“I can’t believe it either.”
The blue dragon Sirtiren let out a hollow laugh.
“I know Raon Zieghart is strong, but I never thought he’d beat the Lord down like that.”
She shook her head as she examined the Dragon Lord’s back, frozen white.
“That guy’s insane….”
The black dragon Dariauran clenched his fist so tightly that veins bulged.
“He’s crushing the Lord with pure strength! Not a tribe leader, but the Lord!”
As if excited by Raon’s domineering might, he let out a scream-like shout.
“Terrifying power.”
The white dragon Bursiarabi swallowed hard.
“I didn’t think he was this strong. Was he hiding his might?”
Narrowing his eyes, he remarked that Raon seemed to have concealed far more power than expected.
“Haa….”
Bartius wiped the sweat from his brow and exhaled a heavy breath.
“Our choice was the right one.”
In truth, at first I had considered seeking out not Raon Zieghart, but Glenn Zieghart, the strongest man on the continent. To take down the Lord, that would have been the best choice.
‘But after learning about the life Raon Sieghart has lived, I changed my mind.’
Raon Zieghart was a human who shattered the system built by the existing absolutes and forged his own path.
In a way, he was just like us, someone who sought to break through the walls erected by the ancient dragons and restore the duty that mediators were meant to fulfill in the first place. Thinking that, we chose Raon Zieghart.
Even after directly witnessing Raon’s might, there were honestly many things to worry about.
While we might have been able to defeat the tribe leaders if we combined our strength, the Lord was a being on a completely different dimension.
‘I thought it was dangerous.’
When Raon said he would face the Lord alone, I didn’t fully trust him. If Raon were pushed back even a little, I had planned to step in and fight together with the other dragons.
“This situation… I really didn’t see it coming.”
At first, Raon seemed to be at a slight disadvantage, but at some point, he began to overwhelm the Dragon Lord.
The sight of a tiny human pressing down the massive Dragon Lord with nothing but his own might was so exhilarating that it sent chills down my spine, even though we were of the same race.
“Keep going until the end, Raon Zieghart.”
Now fully trusting Raon, Bartius lowered the two hands that had been gathering mana.
“I knew it’d turn out like this!”
Martha dusted off her palms and crossed her arms.
“Worrying about that guy only puts us at a loss.”
She nodded as if she had known from the start that Raon would overwhelm the Dragon Lord.
“I did trust him too, but….”
Burren let out a hollow laugh with his hand resting on his sword.
“I didn’t expect him to push the Lord that hard.”
Watching Raon cut through every one of the Lord’s spells, he slapped his own cheek.
“Ugh….”
Dorian groaned, clutching his head every time Raon’s sword collided with the Dragon Lord’s spells.
“H-he’s going to win, right? Our palace master?”
He whispered, barely lifting his gaze.
“Of course.”
Evelyn nodded calmly, as if there were nothing to worry about.
“Raon doesn't betray trust.”
She formed a gentle smile, as if she herself knew that better than anyone.
“Though… there is one thing that bothers me a little.”
She bit her lip slightly, as if something was weighing on her mind.
“But those dragon words.”
Martha frowned as she watched the Dragon Lord push Raon back using dragon words.
“Doesn’t it feel a bit strange?”
She scratched her cheek, unable to shake the feeling no matter how much she thought about it.
“What feels strange about it?”
Burren rolled his eyes toward Martha.
“He keeps using weak words like ‘get lost,’ ‘be pushed back,’ ‘fly away.’”
Martha repeated the dragon words the Dragon Lord had used.
“If he just said ‘die’ from the start, wouldn’t that kill him?”
She tilted her head, looking worried yet unable to understand.
“That would be difficult. No, close to impossible.”
Bartius clicked his tongue briefly.
“Impossible?”
Martha’s eyes widened, as if she hadn’t expected Bartius to answer.
“Dragon word is not omnipotent. It merely allows magic to be activated more quickly and strengthened, within the limits of what the dragon can accomplish with its own power.”
Shaking his head, Bartius said that dragon word was not the convenient power it appeared to be.
“It twists the flow of the human world, so it cannot be used continuously, and if it fails, there is backlash. Only because he is the Lord can he even use dragon word to that extent.”
He shook his head, saying that if it were any other ancient dragon, it wouldn’t even have been able to use dragon words to that extent against Raon.
“Raon Zieghart, as he is now, is strong enough to threaten the Lord’s life. If the Lord were to use dragon words telling him to die, and they were to fail, the backlash would return directly to the Lord.”
Bartius frowned along the bridge of his nose, saying that if the Lord used dragon words telling Raon to die and failed, he could end up dying himself instead.
“Ah, I see.”
Martha nodded, saying she finally understood.
“Phew! Then there’s really nothing to worry about!”
Dorian let out a long breath, as if he could finally relax.
“And now, it seems it’s time for us to worry about ourselves.”
With a short sigh, Bartius turned around.
Uuuuuuuung!
From the forest sky that had been quiet until now, more than a dozen lights were rapidly approaching.
“That is….”
Burren narrowed his eyes slightly as he examined the clusters of light.
“Dragons. Looks like the Lord called for reinforcements as soon as he regained his senses.”
Bartius nodded, saying that all of those dragons were flying in to save the Lord.
“Since we blocked teleportation magic, they came flying in directly like that.”
He curled his lips upward, noting that they had still bought quite a bit of time.
“I hope this will be the last time we fight our own kind.”
The blue dragon Sirtiren let out a deep sigh as she returned to her true form.
“I actually want to fight our kin, though?”
The red dragon Balasiur smashed his fists together and let out a grin thick with killing intent.
“Such a barbaric tribe, as always.”
Despite his words, the black dragon Dariauran manifested his true form while emitting dense poison.
“Those who want to fight will fight, and those who don’t won’t. Right now, all that matters is the future of the dragons.”
The white dragon Bursiarabi exhaled white breath and spread his massive wings.
“Sounds good! I wanted to fight some more anyway!”
Martha drew her sword, saying she hadn’t expected another chance to fight dragons to come so soon.
“Calm down. Raon can’t help us right now.”
Burren lowered his hand, telling her to rein in her excitement.
“If I go wild, you’ll back me up, right?”
Martha curled her lips upward, as if she trusted him.
“That’s true.”
Burren nodded, cloaked in confidence.
“R-really, why is my life like this….”
Dorian lifted his sword while wearing a tearful expression, staring at the dragons drawing closer.
“Then if the Lord uses dragon words telling Raon to die….”
Evelyn narrowed her eyes slightly, looking not at the approaching dragons, but at Raon.
“It would mean he’s confident he can kill him.”
* * *
Jjeeeeeeeeok!
After severing the Dragon Lord’s magic with the Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation’s Revolving Sky, Raon smashed into his abdomen.
Kuuuuuuung!
Using a veil mana, the Dragon Lord managed to stop his flesh from being cut, but he was struck by a massive impact and crashed onto the floor of the black dimension.
As if his enormous body had taken another shock, blood burst from the wounds all over him.
“You’re holding up well.”
Wearing a cold smile, Raon moved behind the Dragon Lord as he tried to spread his wings.
[You bastard!]
The Dragon Lord summoned dozens of walls of light. Layering the walls one after another, it looked as though he intended to trap Raon inside and crush him.
Chiaaaaaang!
Raon unleashed the Thirty-Six Crimson Slash with the divine sword, shattering the rapidly approaching curtain of light, then thrust in with the demonic sword using the Single Crimson Point.
The blue blade, fired like a single red dot, pierced straight through the Dragon Lord’s chest.
Puuuuuurk!
The Dragon Lord’s chest split open, and thick crimson blood gushed out. A wound frozen solid in pure white frost, one that couldn’t even regenerate, was left behind.
[Krrrgh!]
As if his eyes had gone wild from the newly added wound, the Dragon Lord swung his mana-wreathed tail down toward Raon’s head.
“So you’re finally starting to thrash around like a beast.”
Raon twisted his lips upward and raised both the divine sword and the demonic sword at the same time. The Fangs of Insanity and the Blizzard Sword Art surged upward violently, colliding head-on with the Dragon Lord’s tail.
Kwaaaaaang!
The divine sword and demonic sword, blazing with flame and frost, overpowered the Dragon Lord’s far more massive tail and smashed him into the wall.
Good!
Wrath burst into admiration as he looked at the Dragon Lord embedded crookedly in the ground.
It’s like smashing a building’s pillar with two toothpicks!
He nodded vigorously, saying Raon was doing far better than expected.
“…Is that so.”
Raon let out a white breath, his hands holding the divine sword and demonic sword trembling slightly.
Hmm….
Wrath stroked his chin.
It’s true that you’ve grown stronger than before, but your sustain is still lacking.
He clicked his tongue, as if he had grasped Raon’s condition at a glance.
‘As expected of the Demon King. You’re right.’
Raon chuckled softly as he looked at his trembling hands.
‘I’m almost at my limit.’
<Wrath Release> allows overwhelming might by cloaking the entire body in wrath, but in exchange, stamina and mental strength are rapidly consumed.
I had grown and now possessed more stamina and mental strength than before, but because I brought forth even greater wrath, my endurance to sustain it was still lacking all the same.
You still need to grow more.
Wrath snorted, as if to say there was still a long way to go.
‘Right. I’m still lacking. But….’
Raon poured strength back into the divine sword and the demonic sword.
‘I have to finish that lizard with my own hands.’
It was true that most of my power had been spent after activating both the sword field and <Wrath>, but I could still move. The Dragon Lord had been driven to the brink of death as well, so I had to end it decisively now.
‘Kill him quickly, then clean up the rest.’
All the dragons were converging here to save the Dragon Lord. I needed to deal with the Dragon Lord as fast as possible and then help those behind me.
“Haaa….”
To replenish the <Wrath> that was gradually fading, Raon opened his soul’s level once more.
Goooooo!
Even the authority of the other Demon Kings, buried far deeper than Wrath, was drawn out and enveloped his entire body.
Kuuuuuuung!
Once again, time slowed. No, it seemed as though time had stopped. A sense of omnipotence, as if he could knead the world itself, filled his mind.
‘I can’t last long.’
He forced even more strain onto a body and mind already at their limits. He had to kill the Dragon Lord right here and now.
“With this….”
Kicking off the air, Raon charged at the Dragon Lord. He advanced at a speed that light and sound could not keep up with and brought down the divine and demonic swords.
“This is the end.”
* * *
Huuuuuk!
Sensing Raon’s presence approaching without any sign or sound, the Dragon Lord swallowed dryly. He felt the keenly honed twin blades biting into his neck.
‘This is dangerous!’
The instincts honed over nearly ten thousand years told him that the instant he took that attack, his body would be completely obliterated.
‘I can’t block it.’
To prepare magic capable of stopping those blades would require at least a single breath, but Raon Zieghart was too fast to allow even that.
All I could foresee now was the outcome of those blades piercing straight through my flesh.
‘A way out….’
Is there only one?
There was exactly one method for me to survive. But even that was not perfect. One misstep, and it would become suicide.
‘What should I—.’
[…….]
‘Ah!’
As he felt the cold blades tearing into his flesh, the Dragon Lord recalled what he had forgotten. No, a warm voice reminded him of what had been buried in darkness.
‘Absolute authority magic!’
The absolute magic I had prepared to kill all humans still remained in this dimension.
‘It’s hard to control, but there’s no choice!’
Staring straight into Raon’s red eyes, the Dragon Lord released the seal on the absolute authority magic he had prepared over countless years.
[Raon Zieghart!]
He embedded absolute magic into dragon words and shouted the most dangerous phrase in this world.
[Die!]
