The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1097

 Chapter 1097

“What do you mean by that all of a sudden?”

Raon blinked at the Sword Sovereign and the War King.

“Weren’t you two being guided around the annex building by mother?”

Since Sylvia, the owner of the annex building, had said she would introduce the Sword Sovereign and the War King to the annex building, I had left it to her and was planning to focus on sword training.

I couldn’t understand why the two, who should have been looking around the annex building, suddenly brought Sia with them saying they would take her as their disciple.

“That was the plan, but….”

The Sword Sovereign let out a deep sigh as she looked at Sia.

“When I saw this child, I couldn’t help myself. She’s a lump of pure talent!”

She said she had never seen such talent in her life, unable to close her gaping mouth.

“I feel the same.”

The War King placed his hand over his chest and bowed his head.

“Not on the same level as you, lord, but this is talent that surpasses the standard of genius. I want to raise her myself.”

His eyes, which were usually calm, trembled with excitement.

“Are you okay, sister?”

Raon looked at Sia, who was being held by the Sword Sovereign’s hand on her shoulder.

“I’m fine.”

Sia nodded her head with a calm expression.

After going through adolescence, her composure seemed to have risen sharply.

“What happened?”

Raon asked Sylvia, who was standing by the door.

“Sia said she was bored, so she went to the lake to train.”

Sylvia smiled brightly, as if happy that Sia had received the recognition of the Sword Sovereign and the War King, and continued.

“When they saw her swinging a sword, the Sword Sovereign and the War King ran straight over and started fighting each other to take her as their disciple.”

She pinched her own cheek, still not sure if this was reality or a dream.

“So then, sister….”

“I said no.”

Sia shook her head, saying she had refused their offer.

“So the two of you came here because you want to take my sister as your disciple.”

Raon muttered that he understood now and nodded.

“That’s right.”

The Sword Sovereign nodded.

“She refused, saying she would only listen to you, my lord, so we came here.”

She bowed her head, asking to be allowed to take Sia as her disciple.

“It shows that she was directly taught by you, lord.”

The War King nodded, saying he could feel Raon’s influence in Sia’s martial arts.

“However, it seems there are some lacking parts, perhaps because she wasn’t consistently guided. I will correct them.”

He clenched his fist, saying he would raise Sia into a perfect warrior.

“As expected, you see well.”

Raon lowered his brows slightly.

“I did teach my sister the sword, but since I couldn’t consistently watch over her, there must be lacking parts.”

I passed down to Sia the basics of swordsmanship and the intuition sword, but because I was busy with many missions and looking after the Light Wind swordsmen, I hadn’t been able to devote much time to her.

With Darkan gone from Zieghart, and Edgar and Sylvia only wishing for Sia to stay healthy, she must have spent quite some time swinging her sword alone.

‘It’s not a bad proposal.’

Now that Sia had built up her basics, it was the right time for her to need a proper teacher.

I had thought to take her to the Light Wind Palace and have her train with the swordsmen there, but now, without me seeking it, teachers, no, the best teachers,  had come to her. My heart began to pound intensely.

“What do you think, sister?”

Raon first asked for Sia’s opinion.

“Are these people strong?”

Sia pointed both her hands toward the Sword Sovereign and the War King.

“They’re strong. Very much so.”

Raon smiled and nodded.

“Stronger than you, Raon?”

“Hmmm….”

He rubbed his chin and let out a low hum.

“For now, they’re stronger than me.”

The Sword Sovereign and the War King’s martial power was on the level of the heads of the Five Kings and Three Demons, except for Glenn, the Heavenly Demon, Derus, and Darkan. If I activated my sword field and fought with all my might, I could hold out for a while, but in the end, I would be defeated.

“They were really that strong?”

Sia opened her eyes wide in surprise.

“For now, yes.”

The War King calmly nodded while looking at Raon.

“Our lord will eventually surpass us and ascend to the heavens.”

He smiled faintly, certain that Raon would rise above them.

“And besides, our lord has power he’s still hiding, doesn’t he?”

The Sword Sovereign shrugged, saying she felt something immense beneath his soul. As a high Transcender, her senses seemed extraordinarily sharp.

“If you become their disciple, it will be tough. You may even miss the days of swinging a sword alone by the lake. But…”

Raon bent slightly forward to meet Sia’s eyes.

“You’ll surely grow stronger. Strong enough to achieve your goal of protecting the annex building with me.”

“Then I’ll do it!”

Sia nodded without a moment’s hesitation.

“I want to get stronger too!”

She nodded again, saying she wanted to become far stronger than she was now and protect the annex building.

“You heard her.”

Raon smiled and stepped back.

“Then it’s our turn now?”

“Yes. Let’s decide who will be the teacher.”

The War King and the Sword Sovereign narrowed their eyes sharply, glaring at each other.

“Aren’t the two of you teaching together?”

Raon widened his eyes.

“The sects are different! Of course we have to teach separately!”

“I also think that’s right.”

The Sword Sovereign and the War King loosened up, saying they would fight directly to decide who was more suitable as a teacher, and told him to wait a moment.

Though they often seemed like adults, at times like this they were like children again.

“Stop.”

Raon sighed and raised his hand.

“The reason I gave the two of you the complete Diamond Earth Cultivation, the Abyssal Saber Art, and the Demon Breaking Sword Art was because I didn’t want meaningless fights.”

“But this isn’t meaningless—”

The Sword Sovereign lifted her hand.

“Isn’t it true that by learning the Diamond Earth Cultivation I became the master of both the sword sect and the saber sect?”

Raon asked as he looked at the Sword Sovereign and the War King.

“That is correct.”

“Of course.”

The War King and the Sword Sovereign both nodded.

“And isn’t it also true that my sister can learn both your martial arts at the same time without issue?”

“That’s true.”

“Her talent is beyond even what we can follow.”

They agreed that Sia could handle both sword techniques and saber arts at once.

“Then there’s no need to choose a teacher. You can both teach her. Just take turns each day. And….”

Raon raised a finger and continued.

“From now on, I will merge the Sword Sect and the Saber Sect into one and revive the Sword and Saber Sect. The two sects were originally one, and since I received martial arts from the first sect master, Sir Sword and Saber Sovereign, I believe I have the right to do so.”

Raon looked down at the Sword Sovereign and the War King and nodded solemnly.

“Hmm!”

“The Sword and Saber Sect….”

The Sword Sovereign and the War King bit their lips. Their eyes began to tremble violently.

‘They’ll surely oppose this.’

Since the two had lived their whole lives as the Sword Sect and the Saber Sect, even if they were sect masters themselves, they would not have liked the idea of merging into a single sect.

‘How should I persuade them….’

“Not bad.”

“Sounds good.”

Just as Raon was racking his head on how to persuade them, the Sword Sovereign and War King smiled faintly, saying it seemed good.

“…Huh?”

Raon blinked at the two of them.

“Thinking it over, Sir Raon is right. There’s no need to fight anymore, and since the disciple’s aptitude is outstanding, it should be fine to teach her together.”

The Sword Sovereign nodded in agreement.

“I will follow Sir Raon’s words.”

The War King bowed his head, thanking him for such a good decision.

“The Sword and Saber Sect’s Yuber greets the sect master!”

“The Sword and Saber Sect’s Sieran greets the sect master!”

The Sword Sovereign and War King met each other’s eyes, then, as if they had been waiting for it, dropped to their knees and bowed.

“I told you to stop doing that….”

Raon sighed and smacked his forehead. That heavy greeting kept popping out whenever he was about to forget it, making him feel uncomfortable inside.

“I’ll be counting on you from now on!”

The Sword Sovereign stroked the head of Sia, who was taller than her.

“It will be a hard path, so be prepared.”

The War King also nodded, as if to show he was already taking on the role of teacher.

“Yes, masters!”

Sia bowed politely to the Sword Sovereign and the War King.

“Sia….”

Sylvia nodded broadly, satisfied with how mature her daughter looked.

“Our daughter’s all grown now! It’s time to let her go….”

Edgar covered his mouth and sniffled, moved by Sia’s clear voice.

“She’s not getting married, she’s not leaving anywhere….”

Raon shook his head at Edgar, telling him not to exaggerate.

Those old fools….

Wrath furrowed his eyes in disbelief.

If you told them to die, they’d probably really die for you.

Wrath furrowed his brows, wondering how they could be so full of loyalty after not even a month together. He seemed quite envious.

‘It’s just as you said before. This time, I was finally lucky.’

It was fortunate that people as pure as the Sword Sovereign and the War King were carrying on the will of the Sword and Saber Sovereign. For the first time, Raon felt as though luck was finally turning in his favor.

Finally? Did you just say finally?

Wrath’s jaw trembled in disbelief.

You’ve lived your whole life on luck, and you dare say ‘finally’? Have you no shame!

His bloodshot eyes glared, demanding he take it back immediately.

“Shall we begin training right away?”

“Ah, before that, there’s one more thing I’d like to ask.”

Raon brushed aside the fuming Wrath with the back of his hand and stepped toward the Sword Sovereign and the War King.

“If it’s a request….”

“Just say the word.”

The War King lowered his brows with curiosity, and the Sword Sovereign nodded for him to speak.

“You’ll find out if you come with me tomorrow.”

Raon nodded lightly with a faint smile.

*   *   *

“You must have already heard the rumors.”

Raon lifted his chin as he stood on the platform of the fifth training ground.

“These two are the Sword Sovereign and the War King.”

He called the Sword Sovereign and the War King, who were waiting behind, to the front.

“That, that’s the Sword Sovereign? She looks way too young! And she’s a woman?”

“I can definitely feel a chilling energy wave. I don’t think I could even approach the War King….”

“They both look young on the outside, but their power is the real thing.”

“To think I’d see the Sword Sovereign and the War King with my own eyes!”

The Light Wind swordsmen, who knew well of their reputation, trembled at their fingertips just from facing the two.

“Haaahk! Haaahhhk! Haaaah….”

Mark Goetten, saber in hand, exhaled white vapor from his lips as if in deep reverence for the War King, who had reached the realm of Transcendence. It was bewildering, since it was the first time he had ever displayed such behavior.

“Starting today, these two will be your temporary instructors. They won’t be here every day, but they’ll stop by once a day, so make sure to seek their guidance earnestly.”

Raon gestured toward the Sword Sovereign and War King with a nod.

‘Letting masters like these just sit idle would be a waste.’

Since there was no need for both of them to teach Sia at the same time, I had asked the other to serve as instructor for the Light Wind Palace, and they readily agreed.

“And….”

Raon beckoned to Paratheus, who was standing aside.

“This is Sir Paratheus, an ancient dragon of the Golden Tribe. If you ask him, he can reshape the training ground so you can train in conditions suited to you.”

As he said that, he gave a signal to Paratheus.

“How bothersome!”

When Paratheus nodded and chanted, at the far right of the training ground, a freezing mountain surged upward, while at the far left, a deep pit of blazing fire opened..

“Uooooh!”

“He cast such high-level spell without even an incantation?”

“As expected of a dragon!”

“So this is how convenient it is when a dragon is on your side!”

The swordsmen stared at Paratheus with sparkling eyes, astonished by his magic.

“N-not a big deal! I can do this too!”

Feeling pleased by their cheers, Paratheus began working on more things without being asked.

That lizard was born a doormat.

Wrath shook his head in disdain.

‘Yeah. Like someone I know.’

And who exactly are you talking about?

‘…….’

Raon didn’t answer and turned his gaze back to the Light Wind swordsmen.

“Since there are three Transcenders here today, choose the one you want to learn from.”

He told them to stand before the Transcender they wanted and nodded.

“War King! War King! War King!”

“We can actually choose?”

“This is why the Light Wind Palace is the best!”

“I pick the Sword Sovereign!”

Mark Goetten, brimming with madness, ran toward the War King, while other swordsmen went to the Transcender they wanted.

Most gathered before the Sword Sovereign and the War King, while some went to Paratheus because of the special training ground.

‘I can already picture the future.’

If the swordsmen were nurtured like this, it might be possible to create a large number of Grandmasters before the war. At present, only Burren, Runaan, Martha, Mark Goetten, and Trevin had reached the realm of Grandmaster, but with the help of the Sword Sovereign, the War King, and Paratheus, it seemed likely that many more could be raised to that realm.

‘And on top of that, Runaan might even reach Transcendence.’

Since Runaan had obtained the authority of sloth from Sloth, if she were trained properly, there was even the possibility she could reach Transcendence.

‘I’m looking forward to it.’

As he imagined an armed organization of Grandmasters crushing the celestials and Eden’s demons, a smile naturally came to his lips.

This isn’t the time for you to be thinking about that, is it?

‘Hm?’

Raon blinked and lifted his head.

‘What do you mean… what the—!’

Unlike the Sword Sovereign, the War King, and Paratheus, not a single swordsman stood before him.

Pfuhehheheh!

Wrath spread his hands and burst into mocking laughter.

The King of Essence knew this would happen! Who would go to a madman like you!

Wrath snickered, saying that the fact not a single person stood before him showed what kind of person he really was.

“Ugh….”

Raon tightly shut his eyes at the sight of the empty space in front of the platform.

‘I may have trained them too harshly until now, but this is a bit much.’

I had only pushed them so hard because I didn’t want to see them die, but seeing that not one of them chose me made my chest ache.

It’s not that you didn’t want to see it. Didn’t you beat them up every time?

Wrath snorted, telling him to be honest with his words.

“Haa….”

Raon sighed and was shaking his head when—

“I will learn from you, palace master!”

Krein raised his hand high and stood before Raon.

“Krein?”

Raon’s jaw dropped. Of all people, he hadn’t expected Krein to be the first to come forward, and he was stunned.

“I’ve grown this much all thanks to you, palace master!”

Krein bit his lips firmly and cast a sharp glance at the other swordsmen.

‘Idiots.’

All they had to do was endure one hard day, but they were choosing to suffer for over a month.

Raon was the kind of petty man who never let even the smallest thing slide. It was obvious he would remember today and turn it into focus enhancement training, so it was best to earn points in advance.

‘I’m getting out of this.’

As he pictured Raon remembering today and being the only one to go easy on him during training, a smile crept across his lips.

“No. That’s not it….”

Dorian shook his pale face, as if saying it was a wrong choice.

“Worry about yourself.”

Krein snorted and waved his hand dismissively.

“Krein!”

Raon leapt down from the platform.

“You believe in me!”

Raon gave a big nod, looking genuinely pleased.

“Of course! I, Krein, could even lay down my life if it’s for you, palace master!”

Krein raised his fist, declaring that he alone believed in Raon.

“Good.”

Raon’s red eyes burned with heat.

“I will make you a Grandmaster no matter what. Starting today, train with me.”

He slapped Krein’s back, telling him they would work hard together.

“Guh—!”

Krein’s jaw trembled as heat flared across his back.

“S-Starting today? Not just today?”

“It was supposed to be just today. But…”

Raon gripped Krein’s shoulder and nodded.

“Your passion and will have moved me. Befitting your nickname of the First and Always Krein, I’ll make you the first common swordsman of the Light Wind Palace to reach Grandmaster!”

“Ah, y-you don’t have to go that far…”

“No, it’s a must.”

Saying he would see it through to the end, Raon grabbed Krein by the scruff of the neck and took him into the cultivation room.

“Gyaaaaaaaaah!”

From deep within the cultivation room—where sound shouldn’t be heard—Krein’s tearing scream rang out.

“Hoo….”

Dorian watched and shook his head side to side.

“That’s why you shouldn’t have gone.”

Because Raon is a man with more affection than he shows, but if you got on his wrong side, that affection turned into poison. Dorian himself had almost approached Raon too, but after reading his thoughts with the mind’s eye, he immediately gave up.

“Uuuuurgh!”

Hearing Krein’s screams spreading from the cultivation room, Dorian prayed for his soul.

“May it at least be a peaceful death.”

*   *   *

“Certainly…”

Raon narrowed his eyes as he watched Sia training under the Sword Sovereign.

“She’s progressing quickly.”

It had been three weeks since the Sword Sovereign and the War King took charge of Sia. Thanks to their devoted teaching, she had grown so much she was nearly unrecognizable, and even now, she could already make a name for herself if she stepped out.

‘Her talent really is unmatched.’

He found himself a little envious of Sia’s innate special talent and smacked his lips.

Are you truly mad?

Wrath furrowed his brows as if dumbfounded.

‘Why? I wasn’t exactly someone with talent.’

Right. You started at the bottom. But you grew your talent and climbed all the way up here!

He waved his hand.

The talent you’ve grown and pushed past its limits is something unprecedented, not just in this human world, but even in the devildom!

Wrath shook his head firmly, saying it wasn’t even something that could be compared to Sia.

On top of that, you’re still growing through effort even now! You needn’t envy your sister, nor even that old man of yours!

‘What’s this? You’re actually acknowledging me?’

Raon let out a hollow laugh and looked at Wrath.

Your talent isn’t something you were born with, it’s something you made

Wrath’s eyes wavered with a serious light.

You rose from the bottom all the way to the sky. Acknowledging you is only natural.

“Hm….”

Raon couldn’t meet Wrath’s gaze and turned his eyes slightly aside.

‘Usually he’s an idiot, but at times like this, he’s serious.’

Since Wrath never spoke empty words, hearing his praise felt better than receiving any reward.

‘Alright. I’m treating you to bead ice cream today.’

Raon grinned and tapped Wrath.

R-really!

‘Think about what flavor you want.’

Then of course the King of Essence will pick mint chocolate, and….

While Wrath was muttering the flavors he wanted to eat—

“Light Wind Palace master!”

The Shadow Agents master, Chad, came toward the annex building, waving his hand.

“Shadow Agents master?”

Raon rose from his chair and went out to greet Chad.

“What brings you to the annex building?”

“I came because there’s something I need to inform you of.”

Chad wiped the sweat running down his forehead and nodded.

“If it’s something to inform me of….”

“At midnight tonight, the first successor candidate test will end.”

He nodded, saying the time he’d set with Glenn had come.

“Already?”

“The gap between the top ranks and the rest is too wide, so he said there’s no point in giving more time.”

Chad nodded, saying it was Glenn’s decision.

“Most likely the second test will be announced tomorrow right away.”

“Then who are the five who passed the first test?”

Raon already knew himself, Karoon, and Balder, but he was curious about the other two.

“It’ll be announced tomorrow, but I suppose I can tell you in advance. Sir Karoon, Sir Raon, Sir Balder, Lady Aris ….”

Chad swallowed dryly and spoke four names.

“Aunt participated too?”

“Yes. She had a large amount of golden tablets saved from the past, and since she entered as a candidate, she’s been gathering them diligently, saying she wants to support you.”

He nodded, saying that somehow Aris had ended up among the candidates too.

“The fifth and last is….”

Chad nodded and finally spoke the last name.

  1. Okay we really need to talk about the power scaling getting out of hand now😭
You guys remember the 5 Kings’ tournament arc a while ago in the story, when they mentioned that there was a small elite group of the strongest warriors of the newer generation who all had “dragon” in their nickname? And everybody in that group was so renowned because they became Masters by the age 25, and Raon was the youngest because he became a master at like 19 or 20.
So now the who light wind is gonna be grandmasters in their early 20s?😭 C’mon man. Yua and Yulius are already masters at like 14 or however young they are. It’s a bit out of hand now lol, a lot of stories have this issue where they have to make the side characters not useless compared to the Mc so they randomly inflate the strength of their friends.

    1. I agree. Ar first I thought it was fine because it emphasizes on how influential the Mc is but now its really getting out of hand

    2. Exactly, it was so crazy when Raon was famous as the youngest Master in history when he became one around his 20th birthday, now we’re gonna have 2 Grandmasters running around in their early teens lmao.
This is like early on in the story Trancenders were a realm only a small handful of Leaders of the organizations were at and it seemed so unattainable. I remember thinking it was unfair and OP when the Black Tower revealed they had a secret second Trancender in their ranks. Now we see a new one pop up every couple weeks and don’t bat an eye. Heck we even have a trancendant level wolf pet now lol.
This is one of my favorite series but I really wish they were better with certain aspects and had a bit of a tighter story.

    3. Just be thankful there is always a new chapter updated instead of ranting about the power scaling. Of course the scaling will go higher since we are almost at the end game what do you expect the power talk? still stuck on the low mid tier? if you want something like that don't read the updates get stuck on your delusions. Sheesh always so opinionated.

    4. Are you retarded perhaps? This has nothing to do with being ungrateful for the daily uploads, we’re all grateful for the effort put into it. You seem to be one of those people on the internet who can never give a critique on something that you like. I love this series but that is a glaring inconsistency with the overall storytelling. That’s it, mentioned in one chapters comment section. It’s okay to love something without giving 100% mindless glaze all the time.
