The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 1089
Chapter 1089
“Uh…?”
Raon stared, mouth agape, at the Sword Sovereign and the War King kneeling before him.
‘They’re calling me the descendant of the Sword and Saber Sovereign?’
It was true that I had received the earth aura from the Sword and Saber Sovereign, but not once had I thought of myself as his descendant.
I had only wanted to try using the earth aura after thinking I had discovered a new way to employ it by watching the Sword Sovereign and the War King’s battle. I had never imagined such a situation would suddenly unfold.
‘This is absurd….’
I had suspected the Sword Sovereign and the War King might be related to the Sword and Saber Sovereign and stayed here to confirm it, but I never expected a reaction like this to come so quickly.
Wh-what? What now!
Wrath’s lips trembled.
Why does this feel less like doormats now and more like slaves!
He pounded his chest as though seized by foreboding.
“First, please calm down.”
Raon spread his palm and gently lowered it.
“Descendant!”
“It is an honor to meet the descendant of the Sword and Saber Sovereign.”
The Sword Sovereign and the War King raised their trembling hands to seize his wrist. The madness in their eyes showed they had no intention of listening.
“W-wait a moment!”
Raon shook off their hands firmly.
“It’s true I’ve been learning the Sword and Saber Sovereign’s martial arts, but I’m not a descendant or a successor!”
He pulled his upper body back, saying that he only knew the martial arts of the Sword and Saber Sovereign, nothing more.
“The martial art you’re learning, Raon! That firm, weighty aura is proof of being a descendant!”
The Sword Sovereign gave a vigorous nod, as though that alone was enough.
“It’s an aura no one else could ever use or even know about!”
She tightened her grasp with conviction.
“Earth aura is not common.”
The War King’s once-cold eyes began to heat up.
“Compared to fire, which is brilliant and powerful, water, which is free and soft, and wind, which is light and sharp, earth is unpopular. So almost no cultivation methods exist to raise it higher. There’s no way we’re mistaken.”
He nodded, saying the aura Raon was using was undoubtedly the one symbolizing the Sword and Saber Sovereign.
“I don’t even know the name of this aura cultivation method….”
Raon waved both hands with a dry laugh.
‘He disappeared before he could tell me.’
The Sword and Saber Sovereign had vanished right after passing on the earth aura, the Abyssal Saber Art, and the Demon Breaking Sword Art, leaving me not even knowing the name of the aura cultivation method.
“The name of that aura is Diamond Earth Cultivation. We only learned half of it, so we use it merely to support and sustain other auras, but you, as the descendant, should be able to wield its power itself.”
He nodded again, saying that with the Diamond Earth Cultivation, Raon could both support other auras and use it independently.
“Huh….”
Raon wetted his lips as he felt the energy of Diamond Earth Cultivation stirring in his middle energy center.
‘So it was such a great martial art?’
No, I had known it was extraordinary, but I hadn’t known it could be used this way.
It was a bit regrettable I hadn’t invested much time into it because of focusing on Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation and Glacier.
“Don’t worry!”
The Sword Sovereign smiled, as if she already knew his thoughts.
“We’ll help you master the Diamond Earth Cultivation quickly.”
She brought her hands together, saying he would be able to raise the level of the martial art in no time.
“That’s right. Even if it’s only halves, we’ve lived our whole lives with the Diamond Earth Cultivation.”
The War King nodded lightly, telling him not to worry. Raon had never thought this cold man would show such a gentle expression.
“Are the two of you the descendants of the Sword and Saber Sovereign?”
Raon looked at the Sword Sovereign and the War King in turn.
“Not yet.”
The War King shook his head.
“We must defeat the other and obtain the remaining half of the Diamond Earth Cultivation and the weapon in order to be recognized as true descendants of the Sword and Saber Sovereign.”
He sighed, admitting that because he had never subdued the Sword Sovereign, he could not yet be called a descendant.
“He’s right.”
The Sword Sovereign jerked her chin toward her husband, the War King.
“As I mentioned earlier, our duel has been carried on from generation to generation for a thousand years.”
She brushed her hands, saying that because the martial arts and the levels of the descendants had always been so evenly matched, no outcome had ever been decided until now.
“But now, that long age has finally come to an end. Today, someone who has learned the unified Diamond Earth Cultivation has appeared, so we will follow you.”
The War King declared he would acknowledge Raon and once again dropped to his knees.
“Honestly, if some strange fellow had been the descendant, I would have cut off their head on the spot…”
The Sword Sovereign’s eyes flashed coldly for a moment, then calmed.
“But since you are Zieghart’s Sword Emperor, there is no choice but to recognize you.”
She nodded, saying it was only natural to acknowledge Raon.
“…I see.”
Raon let out a short sigh as he looked at the Sword Sovereign and the War King’s expectant eyes.
‘Come to think of it….’
The Sword and Saber Sovereign did say that there were successors who each learned his sword techniques and saber techniques.
He told me that he had descendants who inherited his sword and saber, and that I should find them and make them my own people.
Since so much time had passed, I thought they would naturally have disappeared or been forgotten… but I never imagined it would have truly continued on for a thousand years.
‘And that they would be the Sword Sovereign and the War King.’
If it wasn’t a massive faction like Zieghart, then as time passed, martial arts and treasures would inevitably be lost.
But it seemed that the Sword Sect and the Saber Sect had passed down nearly perfect martial arts to their later generations.
“Our mission is to find the true descendant of the Sword and Saber Sovereign. Originally, the two of us were supposed to fight to the death to accomplish that mission, but since you have appeared on your own, Sir Raon, it is only natural that we follow you.”
The War King bowed his head, saying he would serve as a descendant of the Saber Sect.
“Honestly, after becoming husband and wife, neither of us could fight with full strength. So in a way, this is for the best.”
The Sword Sovereign sighed, saying she had struggled between her love for the War King and the mission of her sect.
“I will follow you as well, Sir Raon.”
She smiled brightly with a relieved expression.
“But for Sir Raon to become the true descendant of the Sword and Saber Sovereign, it is not only the Diamond Earth Cultivation, but you must also learn the Abyssal Saber Art and the Demon Breaking Sword Art that we have practiced.”
The War King nodded, saying that only by learning those three martial arts to at least the intermediate level could one become the true successor of the Sword and Saber Sovereign.
“In fact, the Abyssal Saber Art and the Demon Breaking Sword Art have been partly lost, but if the two of us combine the arts and study them, we should be able to restore them quickly.”
The Sword Sovereign clenched her fist, saying that Raon should leave that part to her and the War King.
“The Abyssal Saber Art and the Demon Breaking Sword Art you just mentioned…”
Raon raised his hand with a dry gulp.
“I actually already know them all. They weren’t lost…”
The Sword and Saber Sovereign had not only passed on the Diamond Earth Cultivation to him, but had also given him the originals of the Abyssal Saber Art and the Demon Breaking Sword Art, so they all still remained in his memory even now.
“Ah!”
“As expected!”
The Sword Sovereign and the War King’s eyes flared blue once more.
“O true descendant of the Sword and Saber Sovereign!”
The two of them knelt again and bowed their heads as if they had gone back to fifteen minutes earlier.
Argh….
Wrath gnashed his teeth as he looked at the eyes of the Sword Sovereign and War King, who were filled with excitement.
Why are there so many doormats in this world! And why do they all flock only to you! They should come to the King of Essence too!
He grabbed Raon’s head and shook it, crying out that the world was unfair.
‘Sorry, but….’
Raon turned his head slightly at Wrath’s wailing.
‘There’s no bigger doormat in the world than you.’

“Huuuuh….”
Dorian’s trembling hand pulled a thick blanket up to completely cover Sloth’s face.
“D-did it go well?”
He swallowed dryly and looked back.
“Seems so.”
Evelyn nodded as she looked at the Sword Sovereign and the War King kneeling before Raon.
“Uh…?”
Dorian’s jaw trembled.
“Who are those two, kneeling in front of palace master? Are they criminals?”
“The Sword Sovereign and the War King.”
“Ah, the Sword Sovereign and the War King. I thought they were criminals who had escaped all the way here… huh!”
He nodded calmly, then suddenly leapt up.
Thud.
But, perhaps afraid of waking Sloth, he landed on his toes to reduce the sound and impact.
“S-Sword Sovereign and War King? What are those people doing here?”
Dorian’s mouth hung open, as if he couldn’t understand at all.
“That, I don’t really know either. They’re calling Raon the descendant of the Sword and Saber Sovereign and asking him to accept them.”
Evelyn smiled faintly, as if she could hear everything from over there.
“The Sword and Saber Sovereign? Then were the Sword Sovereign and the War King the descendants of the Sword and Saber Sovereign?”
Since Dorian had entered Zieghart’s training ground (Sword and Saber Sovereign’s Grave) together with Raon, he nodded as if he understood a little.
“That’s right. It seems the martial arts obtained from that place were helpful.”
Evelyn smiled softly, saying that was the case.
“Um, excuse me….”
Dorian blinked at Evelyn.
“That should only be known to us of the Light Wind Palace, so how….”
“Because it’s Raon’s matter.”
Evelyn calmly lowered her brows, saying it was only natural for her to know everything about Raon.
“Ah, aha! I see.”
Dorian’s eyes trembled as he nodded.
‘S-scary….’
A chilling feeling spread through his chest and stomach as if they were melting away. With the Demon King of Sloth sleeping behind him, and the greatest stalker in the world grinning in front of him, he felt suffocated.
‘Palace master, please come quickly. Or at least call me over there!’
Sniffling, he looked toward the dimension Evelyn had opened.
“Ah!”
As Dorian glanced at Raon reflected in the dimension, he clapped his hands.
“If he’s really taking the War King and Sword Sovereign as his subordinates, how many golden tablets would he receive?”
Though they would be under Raon and not Zieghart, if he returned to Zieghart with those two Transcenders, the achievement would be beyond what golden tablets could measure.
Dorian wondered how many Glenn would give Raon.
“The Palace master wasn’t interested in golden tablets, but he’s really lucky.”
Dorian let out a short laugh, saying it was impressive.
“It’s not luck. It happened because he acted with will.”
Evelyn shook her head firmly.
“Huh? What do you mean….”
“It’s Raon’s will and desire to save Zieghart that created this situation.”
Her trembling eyes fixed on Raon, saying it was not mere luck.
“Um….”
Dorian stared at Evelyn’s back for a long time before opening his lips.
“Lady Evelyn, why do you like Sir Raon so much?”
“Because he’s Raon.”
Without the slightest hesitation, Evelyn answered immediately, as if that alone was enough.
“Ah….”
Dorian let out a faint exclamation with a soft smile.
“Why are you smiling?”
“Because I’m the same.”
For the first time, Dorian nodded calmly.
“I also follow him because he’s Sir Raon.”
“I see.”
Evelyn closed her eyes and opened them again, saying she understood.
For the first time, the two shared the same gaze as they looked toward Raon inside the dimension.
* * *
“The Diamond Earth Cultivation, the Abyssal Saber Art, and the Demon Breaking Sword Art….”
The Sword Sovereign looked Raon over and gave a short nod.
“They’re all still at the beginner level, but that’s fine. The best teachers are here!”
She pointed her thumb at herself, saying she would handle everything.
“You should be able to master the Diamond Earth Cultivation on your own.”
The War King nodded, sensing the firmness of Diamond Earth Cultivation settled in Raon’s middle energy center.
“But the Demon Breaking Sword Art and the Abyssal Saber Art differ somewhat from ordinary martial arts, so even for you, descendant, they won’t be easy to master. Still, I will do my utmost.”
He bowed his head, saying he would erase as much of the difficulty as possible.
“Excuse me….”
Raon lowered his brows slightly as he looked at the Sword Sovereign and the War King.
“Are the two of you the only ones in the Sword Sect and Saber Sect?”
“That’s right. It’s a single-succession sect.”
The Sword Sovereign nodded.
“If it weren’t, I wouldn’t have been able to marry this man. I would have been expelled from the sect and it would’ve been chaos.”
She laughed, saying it was only because she was alone that she could marry the War King.
“It’s the same for me. A single succession as well.”
The War King nodded, saying he too had been the only one in his sect.
“Ah! He’s not a subordinate, but that one over there is kind of on the same line as us.”
The Sword Sovereign pointed at the golden dragon standing blankly.
[ M-me too? I have nothing to do with the Sword and Saber Sovereign…. ]
The golden dragon’s eyes went wide in panic.
“You are related to us.”
“Do you want us to break your dragon words?”
The War King and Sword Sovereign frowned at the golden dragon.
[Ah, seriously….]
The golden dragon drooped his head and dipped it into the north sea. Bubbles rose in succession from the icy water.
No one would have thought that enormous dragon could look cute.
That doormat! Maybe he should just roast him!
Wrath furrowed his brows, as if displeased.
“Two Transcenders and an ancient dragon should be more than enough, shouldn’t it?”
The Sword Sovereign laughed, saying that no matter where they were taken, it wouldn’t be lacking.
“Yes. It’s already more than I can handle.”
Raon let out a hollow breath and nodded.
“Precisely because it’s more than enough, mastering the Sword and Saber Sovereign’s martial arts won’t be easy. It will take two years to make us follow you.”
The War King lowered his gaze, saying that even with him and the Sword Sovereign teaching, that much time would still be necessary.
“Two years…?”
Raon narrowed his eyes sharply.
‘For gaining the Sword Sovereign, the War King, and an ancient dragon, two years is practically nothing. But….’
I don’t have that much time.
With Derus possibly appearing at any moment, there was no way I could afford to spend two years training here.
“Could you show me a demonstration first?”
Raon placed his hand on Heavenly Drive as he looked at the Sword Sovereign and the War King.
“Then I’ll show you the sword you should be most familiar with first.”
The Sword Sovereign smiled as she stepped forward.
“The martial art I’ve mastered is the Demon Breaking Sword Art. A sword technique that incinerates demons with powerful flames.”
With those words, she thrust her sword into the air as if to cut down demons. The surging flames heated the northern air until it glowed red.
Fwoooosh!
The Sword Sovereign’s Demon Breaking Sword Art was so fierce and sharp it felt less like sword technique and more like saber technique.
It used both thrusts and slashes, and carried strength, speed, grandeur, and boldness taken to the extreme, a sword technique at the highest level.
“How was it?”
The Sword Sovereign stepped back after displaying every form she could.
“It was a feast for the eyes.”
Raon clapped toward the Sword Sovereign and gave his honest impression.
“You’ll be able to do it too, Sir Raon. If you follow diligently, it won’t take two years, maybe just a year and a half.”
The Sword Sovereign waved her hand, saying he could shorten it by half a year.
“Even so, that’s still long for me.”
Raon smacked his lips briefly and stepped forward before the Sword Sovereign and the War King.
Chiaaang!
He drew Heavenly Drive, bent his knees, and reproduced the Demon Breaking Sword Art the Sword Sovereign had just displayed.
Fwaaah!
Compared to the Sword Sovereign, his speed was slower, his strength weaker, and his grandeur lacking. But his sword perfectly followed the flow and will that the Demon Breaking Sword Art should contain, even reproducing the supposedly lost forms.
Chwaaaak!
The flames of the Demon Breaking Sword Art connected from beginning to end, forming a long, straight red line across the northern sky.
“Huh!”
“Insane…”
The Sword Sovereign and the War King trembled at their jaws, unable to believe he could copy it right away.
“Not a year and a half….”
Raon raised his index finger toward the shocked Sword Sovereign and War King.
“Let’s make it one month.”
