The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 975

 Chapter 975

“Raphael…?”

Raon bit his lip as he gazed at the woman standing in the sky, looking down on everything below.

‘She really is an archangel?’

From the moment the pillar of holy light had descended, he’d known that the blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman at its center wasn’t human.

He had thought she might be a celestial, but an archangel, one of the Seven Archangels? That he hadn’t expected.

‘Come to think of it, her energy feels similar to Uriel’s.’

The energy Raphael radiated as she descended from the sky felt uncannily similar to Uriel’s, whom Derus had summoned before. It must be a unique trait of the celestials.

‘Wrath.’

Raon narrowed his eyes as he turned his gaze toward Wrath.

‘That woman…’

That foul-mouthed woman was right.

Wrath frowned deeply as he looked up at Raphael.

There’s no need to even see her face. That disgusting energy alone makes it clear she’s Raphael.

Grinding his teeth, he made it clear how much he disliked her.

‘Why would an archangel suddenly descend here?’

Raon placed his hand on the hilt of Heavenly Drive and lowered his chin in thought.

‘Wouldn’t it have been better to keep her identity hidden?’

There was no need to even think about who had summoned her down to the lower realm.

‘Derus Robert.’

That bastard had to be the one who summoned Raphael just as he had summoned Uriel.

However, he couldn't understand why, in a situation where their forces were being pushed back, he would reveal such an important card openly instead of hiding it.

Tch.

Wrath clicked his tongue deeply, observing Raphael.

That’s not her real body.

‘What? That’s not her real body?’

Raon’s eyes widened as he turned to Wrath.

That’s right. The real one isn’t here.

Wrath shook his head, stating flatly that what they were seeing wasn’t Raphael’s true form.

‘That’s insane…’

Raon looked at Raphael again and let out a breath.

‘She’s radiating such immense energy, and you’re saying that’s not even the real her?’

The energy emanating from Raphael surpassed even that of the heads of the Five Kings.

Not quite on Glenn’s level, but at least as strong as Chamber at her peak, maybe even stronger. It was hard to believe that such a presence wasn’t the real one.

Rather than a fake, it's that bitch's authority. It's better to think of it as an avatar.

Wrath shook his head, saying it was an ability that allowed her to imbue an avatar with the main body's power.

Since Raphael is the Archangel of Protection, she could send out avatars like this to heal celestials across many battlefields.

He clenched his lips in disgust, saying it was an incredibly dirty ability.

‘An avatar containing the power of the true body…’

It was an absurd ability, but considering she was an archangel of protection, it did make some sense.

‘Then why did Raphael come here of all places?’

Raon smacked his lips and asked.

How would the King of Essence know that!

Wrath frowned, questioning why Raon was asking him.

‘So you don’t know? Even though you always act like you know everything?’

Ngh…

Wrath groaned under his breath and glared up at Raphael. It was clear he didn’t actually know anything in this case.

‘Then at least tell me about Raphael.’

Raon gave a small nod, prompting Wrath.

She’s infamously insidious among the celestials. She comes to you acting friendly, pretending to heal you, and then steals what’s most precious to you.

‘Isn't that what demons do?’

Raon couldn't help but think that Raphael's actions mirrored those of demons depicted in fairy tales.

Exactly!

Wrath clenched his fist with a loud crack.

This damned continent blames us for all the deeds of the celestials! It's like they're blind!

He swung his fist in frustration, feeling wronged.

“Raphael is the archangel of protection and healing.”

Olga’s fingertips trembled as she watched the golden light streaming from Raphael.

"They say she can cure incurable diseases and even bring the dead back to life. There's a legend that she saved people even while facing divine punishment, embodying the benevolent nature of angels."

She described Raphael in a way completely opposite to Wrath. Despite her brash personality and didn’t believe in god, seeing the archangel in person, she actually looked moved.

‘Moved, huh…’

Raon quickly looked down at Rensia in his arms.

“An archangel…”

Rensia also seemed deeply moved by the appearance of the mysterious being, the Archangel, holding her hands together and closing her eyes.

‘It’s not just Olga and Rensia.’

Even the people in the royal capital of Balkar and the heads of the neutral factions who had left the conference hall earlier were now kneeling in prayer, seemingly touched by Raphael’s warm presence.

Even though Derus had already shown that angels weren’t just beings of good, seeing a real archangel in person seemed to awaken faith in people all over again.

‘Don’t tell me… Raphael came here for that very reason?’

As Raon’s expression darkened and he furrowed his brow, Raphael joined her hands together.

Paaaang!

Her white wings opened, tinged with golden light, and the holiness that enveloped her spread throughout all of Balkar.

“How pitiful.”

Raphael looked down on the people below and slowly shook her head.

“Humans still carry pain and anguish in their hearts.”

With sadness in her eyes, she looked down at them with sympathy. Even Raon, who knew her true identity, felt an overwhelming sadness tighten around his heart.

“The world has changed. So much has been achieved… but people have become consumed by desire and are destroying themselves. It is heartbreaking.”

Raphael calmly surveyed everyone in the capital with eyes as deep as the sea, then gave a slight nod.

“But this is not the fault of humankind. The monarch of desire is merely using you.”

She placed her hands together before her chest and gently closed her eyes.

“Do not be afraid. I am here now.”

As Raphael extended her hand in a graceful, almost dance-like motion, golden radiance bloomed and swept across all of Balkar like a massive blessing.

“I will save you. I will erase false desires and lead you to a true life.”

When Raphael smiled, brilliant light bloomed as if the sky itself was smiling.

“I am the one who blesses travelers. Until the end of your journey through life, I shall bestow blessings so that only happiness awaits you. I will heal incurable illnesses, soothe the cold and heat, and erase the sleepless nights haunted by nightmares.”

Raphael nodded, saying that following her would bring complete happiness.
Her clear and ringing voice carried a power that made it seem as though she truly could make it all happen.

“C-cure incurable diseases?”

“Only happiness for the rest of our lives…?”

“The blessing of an angel…”

“C-could that really be true?”

The people stared blankly at Raphael, as if they were completely entranced.

How could anyone see that as an angel?!

Wrath narrowed his eyes in disgust.

That’s not an angel, that’s a spirit that seduces people!

He couldn’t understand why records always made angels out to be good.

“There’s not much time. If you come to me now…”

Just as Raphael reached out her hand as if she would truly save humanity—

Kwaaaaaang!

A gigantic sphere of flames burst out from the sky and exploded in front of Raphael and the pillar of light surrounding her.

“What a load of crap!”

It was Chamber. Biting her lip, she snorted in disbelief.

“Don’t fall for it. That’s all bullshit.”

She stomped her foot, saying that Raphael's voice carried the power of enchantment.

“There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world!”

Ogram shouted that it was all a lie and threw out his fist.

Whoooong!

From his punch, a spiraling aura of Transcendence surged violently and slammed into the pillar of light.

Boom!

But even after taking both Chamber’s magic and Ogram's fist strike head-on, the white pillar of light remained unbroken.

“To think a human dares to reach the heavens...”

Raphael, completely untouched by their attacks, not even a wrinkle on her clothes, tilted her chin ever so slightly.

“How foolish.”

She didn’t counterattack. Instead, she gently lowered her hand, as if pitying them.

“Oooh!”

“She’s unharmed even by the attacks of the Five Kings!”

“She really is an archangel! She’s the real deal!”

The people, moved even more by the sight, clasped their hands in prayer.

That too is Raphael’s Authority.

Wrath clicked his tongue while looking at the pillar of light guarding Raphael.

As expected of the Archangel of Protection, her defense and healing abilities are outstanding.

He admitted that this power, at least, had to be acknowledged, and lowered his brow

‘Just as I thought….’

Raon bit down hard as he watched Raphael with a faint smile on her face.

‘She came here to deceive the people.’

Right now, aside from the Four Demons, nearly all the continent’s strongest individuals were gathered in the capital of Balkar.

It was clear that Raphael had appeared here to tempt the hearts of those whose convictions had not yet solidified.

Didn't the King of Essence tell you?

Wrath snorted at Raphael.

That filthy bitch is disgustingly insidious!

He ground his teeth, saying her heart was darker than anyone’s.

‘That does seem to be the case.’

They’re a perfect match for each other.

There was no way Raphael came here on her own. It was obvious that Derus had planned this, and this devious archangel had carried it out.

“What a filthy trick.”

King Lecross couldn’t hold back anymore and unleashed a sword slash.

Rumble!

Even though he hadn’t fully recovered from his injuries, his heavy slash roared forward, but Raphael’s pillar only trembled fiercely and didn’t break.

“Ah…”

Larian, having taken off her hood, was staring at Raphael with an unusually sharp gleam in her eyes. It was unlike her usual self.

“……”

Glenn, with arms crossed, simply watched in silence, waiting to see how far Raphael would go.

“She’s real.”

Olga’s chin trembled as she looked at Raphael, who remained perfectly unharmed despite the attacks of the heads of the Five Kings.

“She really is an archangel…”

She looked as if the very god she had once prayed to had descended before her, her hands shaking uncontrollably.

‘Hmm…’

Raon narrowed his eyes deeply.

‘This is dangerous.’

If even Olga, who had never seemed especially religious, was reacting this way, the rest of the people were already fully under Raphael’s spell.

‘Wrath.’

Raon called out and gave a small nod.

‘What is that authority?’

It’s a divine protection technique. She’s using divine power to condense light into a wall that provides overwhelming resistance to both physical and magical attacks.

He shook his head, saying it was difficult for human power to break it.

‘It’s really that strong?’

That’s not even her full power. Of course, your grandfather would easily crush it, whether it's her full power or not.

Wrath added that the other heads of the Five Kings would’ve destroyed it too, if not for their injuries.

And you? You’ve still got a long way to go.

‘Then it must be weak against your authority, right? Since it’s divine power.’

Raon tilted his chin slightly as he leapt up to the roof of the conference hall.

You’re catching on!

Wrath nodded vigorously, as if Raon had read his mind.

‘Let’s see…’

Raon placed his hand on the hilt of Heavenly Drive and slowly steadied his breath.

‘Even if it’s just an avatar, the chance to sever an archangel’s head doesn’t come often.’

Looking up at Raphael, he activated the Rings of Fire and Glacier to their extremes.

He drew Heavenly Drive, channeling the wrath drawn from the deepest part of his soul into his blazing blue fingertips.

Fwoooosh!

He imbued the silver blade, where blue frost bloomed, with an image that had reached Transcendence and unleashed it.

Raon Zieghart Style Swordplay.

Seventh Form, Void Severance.

That won’t be enough!

Wrath, saying Raon lacked strength, sent a massive surge of the authority of <Wrath> into his mana circuit.

Fwaaaaah!

The blue frost blazing atop Heavenly Drive flared up like fire, burning fiercely and suppressing the radiant light.

“Hm?”

Raphael sensed his presence and looked down, but the Void Severance had already turned to a beam of light and reached her.

Kuwaaaaaang!

The Void Severance collided head-on with the pillar of light protecting Raphael.

Crraaaaack!

The same pillar that had withstood the attacks of the Five Kings began to crack as if it were about to shatter.

Wuuuuuung!

As Raphael raised her hand, the light surrounding the pillar thickened, the cracks starting to mend.

“You are….”

After stabilizing the pillar, she turned her gaze to Raon, the one who had unleashed the blue sword strike.

“I see. So you’re that human.”

Raphael smiled thinly, as if she recognized him.

“You’ve used some filthy power, but it’s useless. Your sword cannot reach me.”

Raphael let out a mocking laugh and shook her head.

“How could a pigeon possibly understand the will of a phoenix?”

Raon curled his lips into a cold smile and twisted Heavenly Drive, still connected to the Void Severance.

Chiaaaaaang!

In that moment, the blue slash blazed even more intensely, and pierced through the pillar of light.

The Void Severance was a technique combining Ogram’s Tidebreaker and Aris’ space sword. (Raging Sea Changed to Tidebreaker, and Lawrence’s Reverse Sea changed to Tide Reversal)

After nullifying Raphael’s authority with Wrath’s <Wrath>, Raon finally drew out the true power of Void Severance.

Chiaaaaaah!

The flow of the versatile sword he had built up in the Chamber of Self, the power of Glacier that had reached 10 stars, and Wrath’s <Wrath>, all combined as one, unleashing a blue fang of a beast that pierced through the divine light.

“Impossible!”

Raphael tried to raise her hand and draw out divine power, but the slash that had pierced through space had already passed through her neck.

Splaaat!

Raphael’s head, eyes wide open, fell to the ground, and the pillar of light collapsed like a sandcastle.

Crimson blood sprayed over the heads of the crowd, who had closed their eyes in prayer to the archangel.
