The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 910

 Chapter 910

Raon slowly lowered his eyelids.

‘It’s starting to spread gradually.’

He could feel the energy of Chamber, emanating from Rensia’s necklace, flowing toward the artifact forming the pentagram.

“Hmm…”

Rensia blinked her green eyes after examining her own body.

“The pain isn’t too bad. I can endure it!”

She smiled as she touched the black heart protruding from her waist.

“It’s fine for now, but it’s going to get worse soon.”

Raon shook his head with a bitter look. Right now, the mana was still spreading, so she could withstand it, but the moment the pentagram connected completely, Rensia would experience excruciating pain.

“It’s okay! I can endure it, as much as necessary! Because we’re in this together.”

Rensia clasped her hands tightly, drawing a gentle smile. It seemed like she was steeling her heart by thinking of her younger siblings.

“Rensia…”

Runaan pressed her lips together upon hearing Rensia’s words.

"You’re gonna make me tear up."

Martha furrowed her brows deeply as she looked at Rensia.

From now on, this King of Essence shall call that little one an old soul!

Wrath smacked his lips, declaring that he had decided on Rensia’s nickname.

‘It does suit her, but she’s not going to like it.’

Raon shook his head, rejecting the idea.

Hmph. Once the King of Essence has decided, that is the end of it.

Wrath snorted, asserting that his decision was final.

But the mana sure is moving quickly.

Wrath rolled his eyes, noting that the mana was moving faster than expected.

Impressive work, for something created in a hurry.

‘That’s because it was created by an archmage and her disciples who spent sleepless nights on it.’

As a famous tourist destination, Montiro was a large city.

To quickly envelop this vast land and sea with the magic circle, Chamber and Balkar’s mages had worked tirelessly without rest.

He’s looking forward to it.

Wrath licked his lips briefly as he gazed into the air.

Seeing those disgusting beings who defile demonic energy crumble will be satisfying.

His blue eyes flashed, revealing that his wrath toward the Black Tower had not yet subsided.

‘I feel the same way.’

Raon nodded calmly, his eyes unwavering.

‘I want to erase every last trace of them.’

He acknowledged that there were people in the Five Demons who still held honor and integrity, like the Axe King or his grandfather Rector.

But the Black Tower and Derus Robert were an exception.

Those two factions had abandoned their humanity, becoming fiends completely consumed by the word 'demon'.

There was no reason to spare a single one of them—they all had to be eradicated.

It seems your wrath has finally matured.

Wrath smiled faintly, seemingly pleased with the emotions he sensed from Raon.

‘My wrath has been there from the beginning….’

Raon started to mutter Derus’ name but stopped himself, shifting his gaze to the right instead.

‘We’ve reached the edge.’

He could feel Chamber’s mana, which had flowed from the center of Montiro, now reaching the artifact forming the pentagram. The true beginning started here.

“Ugh….”

Rensia lowered her head and bit her lips, seemingly beginning to feel the pain.

“Hold on just a little longer.”

Raon transmitted Glacier’s frost to Rensia, using the cold energy to alleviate her suffering while suppressing the black heart.

‘Even this isn’t easy.’

Maintaining stability in the magic circle’s core while also tending to Rensia meant Raon could not move from this fountain at all.

If anyone disrupted him, he would cough up blood and collapse on the spot.

Are you sure this is all right?

Wrath narrowed his eyes as if concerned.

‘I am.’

Then, he glanced at Runaan and Martha, who were sitting across from him, and smiled subtly.

‘Because the ice cream girl and the beef girl you like so much will protect me.’

*   *   *

“Rensia….”

Martha chewed her lip as she watched Rensia endure unbearable pain.

'Every time I see her, I think of my childhood.'

When her village was massacred by the White Blood Religion and her mother was kidnapped, she thought she had been left alone in this world.

Back then, she had been weak and small, so she desperately racked her brain and even fought with a blade clenched in her teeth to take down the lowest-ranking white blood fanatics.

Had she not met her father while on the brink of death, she would have either become a white blood fanatic herself or ended up as their food.

'No, Rensia has it even worse than I did.'

Martha had at least been rescued at a younger age and brought to Zieghart. Though she had spent years in anxiety worrying about her mother, her life itself had become stable and comfortable.

But Rensia—she had endured nothing but pain, without anyone to help her.

Just imagining how she must have forced a smile while taking care of siblings who weren’t even related by blood made Martha’s chest ache as if it were being torn apart.

“Hey.”

Martha sat on the bench beside the fountain and jerked her chin at Runaan.

“You’re thinking the same thing as me, aren’t you?”

“Probably…”

Runaan nodded heavily as she looked at Rensia, who was trembling all over.

‘She’s a brave child…’

Far braver than me.

For more than ten years, she had been trapped in a cage, never even daring to think of escaping from Syria’s grasp.

If Raon hadn’t appeared as her savior, opening the cage and helping her soar into the sky, she would have never even considered breaking free.

Rensia had lived a similar life, ensnared in the Black Tower’s grasp from birth, enduring endless suffering.

Yet, she never gave up. She protected her siblings, she thought of others before herself, and she never lost her kindness.

Compared to Rensia, who had kept going despite everything, she had simply given up and stayed caged.

‘I will protect her.’

She wanted to see Rensia smile, a genuine, carefree smile fitting for a girl her age, not a forced one hiding pain.

Even though Runaan herself still wasn’t used to smiling yet.

“Let’s do this.”

Runaan clenched her fist, turning her back to Raon and Rensia.

“No matter what it takes.”

“Obviously.”

Martha smirked as if she was stating the obvious and raised her fist.

Thump.

Runaan nodded and stretched out a piece of cloth toward Martha’s raised fist.

“I win….”

“You little…!”

*   *   *

Ssshh…

Raon slowly opened his eyes.

'Everything is proceeding smoothly.'

The pentagram magic circle had begun altering Montiro’s mana flow, with Rensia as its core.

The demonic energy is starting to emerge.

Wrath nodded, sensing the emergence of demonic energy in Montiro.

'Yeah. The energy of death is also beginning to move.'

The energy of death, which had never existed in Montiro before, was now rising from beneath the ground.

This meant that the magic circle connecting Montiro to the Black Tower was beginning to crack.

Raon shifted his gaze to Rensia’s necklace, the transparent jewel embedded in it was now one-third filled with flames.

In just 40 more minutes, a dimensional gate to the Black Tower would open in this place.

“Hnnng….”

Rensia bit her lips deeply, her pain intensifying.

‘It’s going to be tough, but she has to endure it.’

Even Chamber had said it would be excruciatingly painful, so for a child with no proper training, enduring this agony must have been overwhelming.

To ease her suffering as much as possible, Raon added Garunua’s wind to the Glacier’s frost.

“Haa….”

Rensia exhaled softly, bending forward as the pain seemed to lessen slightly.

“You did well. Now, just—hmm?”

Raon was about to praise her when he suddenly turned his gaze sharply.

They’re moving.

‘Already…?’

Only 26 minutes had passed, but busy movements were felt from all over Montiro.

It seemed that those with excellent senses or strong minds had begun to move.

‘If this is the case, it means the enemies are stronger than we predicted.’

Chamber had estimated that the Black Tower’s demonized humans would notice the issue with the magic circle in about 30 minutes.

However, since they had noticed it four minutes earlier, it was reasonable to assume that they were more formidable than expected.

'That means by the time they attempt to contact the Black Tower and realize they’re cut off, it will be around the 28-minute mark.

And the battle itself will start exactly at 30 minutes.

Kuwaaaaaang!

Boooom!

By the time the flames in Rensia’s necklace had risen to about half, shockwaves and explosions erupted all over Montiro.

The battle—no, the war—had begun.

Sssssss….

Sensing the shift, Martha and Runaan drew their swords from their subspace pocket and positioned themselves, Martha in front of Raon and Rensia, and Runaan behind them.

“Uaaahhh!”

“Wh-what’s going on?!”

“Is this a war?!”

“What the hell just happened?!”

The sudden chaos threw the residents and tourists into a panic. They froze in confusion, their eyes darting around without knowing what to do.

“You should leave this place.”

“Head for the mountains….”

Martha and Runaan pointed toward predesignated evacuation routes for the residents and tourists.

Raon observed them guiding the people to safety but soon furrowed his brows.

‘They’ve clashed.’

The swordsmen guarding the pentagram had already begun clashing with the demonized humans of the Black Tower.

All of them were at least Master-level, and some of the enemies seemed to be at Grandmaster-level.

‘Fortunately, they aren’t coming this way.’

Now that the magic circle was active, the artifacts forming the pentagram emitted a stronger presence than its core, drawing the demonized humans towards them.

‘It’s a little faster than expected, but nothing major has gone wrong.’

Raon could sense that swordsmen from the Light Wind Palace and Central Martial Palace had blended in among the tourists, waiting for the perfect moment to ambush the demonized humans.

The Black Tower’s forces had indeed responded quicker than predicted, but because of the thorough preparations, Raon’s side was currently overwhelming them in the smaller skirmishes.

‘If we just hold out a little longer….’

It won’t be that easy.

Wrath snorted and raised a hand.

Sssssss….

From the direction he gestured toward, two figures approached, one was a white-haired man with a greatsword resting on his shoulder, and the other was a tall man leaning on a long spear.

“So this is the place. No… Rensia is the core.”

One of Montiro’s so-called heroes, Kalop of the Greatsword, smirked.

"After witnessing your sister melt away in demonic energy, you still choose to do this? How foolish."

Beside him, another "hero"—Felix, the man responsible for implanting black hearts into people, looked down at Rensia, tilting his chin.

“Ugh….”

Rensia trembled violently, her small shoulders quivering as she shrank away from Kalop and Felix.

“It’s okay.”

Raon tightened his grip around her shaking hand and shook his head reassuringly.

“Let’s trust the pretty big sisters.”

*   *   *

Martha narrowed her eyes as she watched Felix and Kalop approach slowly.

‘They’re as strong as the rumors said.’

Through the black market, she had already checked their combat prowess. Both were peak Master level warriors—opponents at the same level as herself.

But that assessment only reflected their observable strength. There was no way to know how much true power these two were hiding beneath the surface.

“Just do as you usually do… .”

Runaan gave a small nod, as if telling her to stay calm and focus on her own fight.

“I know that already!”

Martha scoffed, snorting as she glanced at Runaan.
Most of the time, she found her frustratingly slow, but when standing behind her like this, she was the most reliable ally she could ask for.

“There’s no need for unnecessary words. Kill them.”

Kalop raised his greatsword, and as soon as he did, jet-black creatures emerged like shadows from behind him.

Chiiiiiiing!

The monsters, their ruby-like red eyes flashing, lunged straight for Raon and Rensia.

Fwoooosh!

The moment their yellow fangs stretched toward Raon, the tourists around the fountain suddenly drew their swords in unison.

Chaaaaarash!

They were the swordsmen of the Light Wind first team. They had been waiting for this moment, and in an instant, they sprang into action, cutting down every single monster that had been charging at Raon and Rensia.

Against the radiant astral energy of the Master-level swordsmen, the creatures melted away without leaving a single trace.

“So, the Light Wind Palace of Zieghart, huh? You came well-prepared.”

Kalop scowled as he recognized the symbol engraved on their swords.

"Do you even realize what you’re doing? You are summoning the Black Tower. No… you are summoning the devildom itself to this place."

He sneered, mocking them for digging their own graves.

“Kalop. Stop wasting your breath.”

Felix dragged the butt of his spear across the ground, shaking his head.

"Rensia. I thought you were someone who understood gratitude, but it seems you’re worse than a pig."

He glared sharply at Rensia, who was squinting through the pain.

"So you wish to follow the same path as your sister? Then, I have no choice. I’ll make sure your flesh and bones melt away in demonic energy just like hers."

His voice was chilling, filled with killing intent, clearly an attempt to break Rensia’s resolve and stop the activation of the magic.

“Hnnngh….”

Rensia’s trembled violently, her tears falling as memories of her sister’s death resurfaced.

“It’s okay.”

Raon gripped her shaking hand even tighter and smiled at her.

“Don’t cry! This big sister will crush that tall bastard.”

Martha stomped the ground and lunged at Felix, swinging her sword down with incredible force.

Her Titan Aura infused the blade, turning its weight into something as heavy as the sky itself.

Kuwaaaaaang!

Even though Felix managed to block her attack, the sheer power behind it forced his feet into the ground, sinking him into the dirt.

"Kalop…!"

Felix’s hand trembled as he gripped his spear tighter, calling out Kalop’s name.

"I know!"

Kalop nodded, immediately dashing toward the fountain, his greatsword swinging down toward Rensia’s head.

Claaang!

A wall of ice erupted just in time, stopping his blade mid-swing, not even allowing it to break through.

"If you try to harm her, your skull is going to shatter first…."

With a heavy stomp, Runaan turned the ground beneath them silver, ice spreading rapidly to freeze Kalop’s lower body in place.

“The Rakshasa Woman of Zieghart and the Azure Lunar Blade, huh?”

Kalop finally understood who he was up against, nodding in realization.

“This isn’t going to be easy. These two are peak Masters.”

He gestured toward Felix.

"Agreed. Their skills are beyond what I had heard."

Felix let out a low groan, having been pushed back by Martha’s strike.

“Release the demonic energy.”

"Should’ve done that from the start!"

The moment the words left Felix’s mouth, black wings sprouted from his back, and a dark horn burst forth from Kalop’s forehead.

As soon as their wings and horn emerged, their energy surged dramatically, scorching the surrounding mana into black flames. The presence and overwhelming energy waves were in the realm of Grandmaster.

Kugugugugugu!

Martha was knocked back by Felix’s spear shaft; meanwhile, the silver frost that had been holding Kalop in place crumbled like dry leaves, unable to withstand his power.

"This is annoying. Let’s end this quickly."

A massive sphere of demonic energy formed at the tip of Kalop’s greatsword, an unmistakable display of Grandmaster-level astral sphere.

"Hnng…."

Runan tried to reinforce her ice barrier, but the destructive pressure of the astral sphere forced her to step back.

Kwadudududuk!

At the same time, Felix wrapped his spear in black flames of demonic energy, relentlessly pressuring Martha.

“Tch!”

Martha had no choice but to focus on defense, parrying the black flames surging toward her.

“You’re not going to step in?”

Felix tilted his head at Raon.

“Why should I?”

Raon slowly opened his eyes, a smirk forming on his lips.

"If you stay like that, your precious subordinates will die."

Felix narrowed his eyes, his spear slashing lightly but precisely across Martha’s waist, drawing a thin line of blood.

“No, they absolutely won’t.”

Raon’s voice was unwavering, as if he were speaking about a future he had already seen.

"Ah, I see. So you can’t stand up."

Felix smacked his lips as if he had just realized it.

"To think I’d get a chance to kill a Transcender like this."

A cold, sinister light flickered in his eyes as the black flames around his spear grew even darker and more intense.

“Even if I could stand, I would still leave this fight to those two.”

Raon remained completely relaxed, resting his chin on his hand.

"The experience those two have accumulated is too valuable to be wasted by losing to the likes of you."

He gazed at Martha and Runaan’s backs with a serene smile.

“You trust them so much that you’d bet your life? Those bitches?”

Kalop let out a laugh of disbelief.

“It’s not trust.”

Raon shook his head calmly.

"It’s simply the truth."

"Damn, you really know how to run your mouth!"

Moved by the unshakable conviction in Raon's voice, something beyond mere trust, Martha forced Felix’s spear shaft back with sheer strength.

"My chest feels… moved."

Runaan shaped her cold energy into an octagonal shield, forming a defense capable of withstanding Kalop’s astral sphere.

Koooooo….

Despite standing before overwhelmingly powerful foes, neither Martha nor Runaan’s gazes wavered. Instead, their eyes grew calmer and steadier, filled with quiet yet unyielding determination.

Fwaaaaaah!

Sensing the burning desire to win within their masters, the swords in their hands erupted with radiant light, shining brighter than ever before.
