The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 915
Chapter 915
‘This...’
Raon narrowed his eyes as he observed the demonic energy flowing within the dimension.
The demonic energy was far denser than mana, making it difficult for swordsmen and mages to exert their full power.
It will be even more difficult than that.
Wrath scowled as he stared at the Black Tower.
‘Why?’
As he told you before, the demonic energy in that dimension is the real thing, drawn directly from devildom.
Shaking his head, Wrath muttered that this war would not end easily.
As long as you're human, your strength will be greatly suppressed within that dimension.
Wrath warned him to be wary, not just of the demonic creatures and demonized humans, but of the demonic energy itself.
‘I don’t think it’s affecting me that much, though?’
Raon tilted his head slightly as he looked at the Black Tower, where the demonic energy shimmered ominously. Just as Wrath had said, the thick energy was strong enough to make one frown, but it wasn’t burdensome enough to affect him.
That's because you've been sucking up the King of Essence’s authority
Wrath bellowed, slapping Raon on the shoulder.
With the King of Essence’s authority and those other doormats inside you, if you still get suppressed by mere demonic energy, you might as well drop dead! In fact, you might even gain strength from it!
He raised his fist, declaring that if Raon lost to such energy, he wasn’t worthy of his vessel.
‘Ah, you're right.’
Raon chuckled and nodded.
But even if this dimension was heavily polluted, very few could gather demonic energy this dense…
Wrath scratched his head, insisting that no human could accomplish such a feat.
‘Do you know something?’
Raon was about to turn to Wrath when—
“The demonic energy here is incredibly dense and nasty.”
Chamber, who had been idly holding a lollipop in her mouth, flicked it into the air and stepped forward toward the rift.
“Shall I reduce it a little?”
She casually traced a triangle in the air with her finger. At that moment, the dark sky split apart, and the swirling demonic energy surrounding the Black Tower began to be sucked away.
"There's too damn much of it to erase completely. In that case..."
Chamber clicked her tongue in irritation before narrowing her eyes.
"Might as well just break it all apart."
She clasped her hands together as if in prayer, and countless fire and frost blades cascaded down from the split sky, carried by a fierce wind.
Kugugugugugu!
The flames and icy blades seemed small at first, but their destructive power rivaled the finishing moves of the strongest high-ranking mages.
Demonic creatures incinerated into ash upon contact with the flames, while demonized humans pierced by the frost blades shattered into icy fragments before they could even scream.
"Shall we make a proper declaration of war?"
Chamber raised her hand, and a radiant, multicolored staff materialized in midair. As soon as she grasped it and swung downward—
The very space surrounding the Black Tower split open vertically.
ZZZZZZZKKKKKKKTTTTT!
Even though the Black Tower was shielded by flames of demonic energy, it couldn’t withstand Chamber’s spell. The lower floors’ walls shattered, and the demonized humans inside who had been preparing for battle were ripped apart, scattering black blood in all directions.
Kugugugugu!
The Black Tower itself did not fully collapse, but every demonized human stationed on its lower floors was annihilated.
Chamber’s spell alone had virtually decimated the entire lower section of the tower.
Yet despite taking a direct hit, the mid-level floors only showed minor cracks, and the upper levels remained completely untouched.
The higher the floors, the stronger the tower’s defenses seemed to be.
"Huh? Even after all that, the middle floors are still intact?"
Chamber let out a dumbfounded laugh, as if she couldn't believe it.
“There’s no way that thing was built by humans.”
She furrowed her brow, remarking how strange it was that the tower had withstood spatial-severing magic.
“Well, at least I’ve reduced the demonic energy. Now, let’s get started for real.”
She raised her staff, and at her command, the allied forces of Zieghart, Owen, and Balkar charged into the black dimension, advancing toward the Black Tower.
Kugugugugu!
Although the dense demonic energy suppressed their aura and physical strength, the allied forces' morale soared even higher, fueled by Chamber’s overwhelming opening attack.
As the allied forces were about to reach the Black Tower’s entrance, stepping over the bodies of demonized humans killed by Chamber’s spell, the middle floors' gates burst open, and monstrous figures leaped out.
Kuwaaaaaang!
They were Giant Demon Soldiers, artificial creatures created by the demonized humans of the Black Tower using Giants as their foundation.
Although the demonic energy they possessed wasn’t especially strong, their sheer physical prowess made them challenging opponents even for elite swordsmen.
Kugugugugu!
And it wasn't only the Giant Demon Soldiers standing in their path. From the darkness behind the Black Tower, countless demonic creatures poured forth, their numbers impossible to estimate.
Most were lower-ranked monsters, but among them were also powerful creatures strong enough to keep even Masters tense and alert.
“Block them! Don’t let them get near the tower!”
The red-haired giant who appeared alongside the Giant Demon Soldiers was raising his shield while commanding the demonic creatures.
Zepel, known as the Beastmaster and the breeder of demonic creatures, was commanding the monsters while raising his shield.
Kugugugugu!
A Giant Demon Soldier, as massive as a building, stood alongside thousands of demonic creatures. Among them, the Black Tower’s demonized humans were scattered in between. It was a sight that truly resembled hell or the devildom.
“There’s nothing to fear.”
With a scoff, Karoon swung his sword downward, splitting the massive body of the Giant Demon Soldier in half.
"I am here."
At his declaration, the allied forces of the Five Kings surged forward like a roaring tide, charging toward the Black Tower’s defensive line.
Kugugugugugu!
Although the Five Kings' allied forces possessed overwhelming strength, the Giant Demon Soldiers and demonic creatures had reinforced their bodies with the demonic energy flowing through this dimension, making the battle evenly matched.
“The upper-floor demonized humans still aren’t coming out.”
Raon frowned as he watched the untouched upper floors of the Black Tower.
"That means they want to fight from their own turf."
Chamber scoffed in disgust.
"The reason the demonic energy in this dimension is so thick is that for years—no, decades—Montiro has been accumulating demonic energy and the energy of death. If it’s this intense outside, imagine how much worse it will be inside the tower."
She shook her head, warning that the battle inside would be far more difficult.
“So the Black Tower’s master is staying inside because he wants to fight in there?”
Raon lowered his gaze to the top floor of the Black Tower. Though he couldn’t see clearly through the swirling black mist, just staring in that direction sent a chill down his spine.
“Yeah. That coward was born like that.”
Chamber nodded as if she had expected this from the start.
“He never leaves that tower unless there’s something he wants, be it an artifact or a magic spell.”
“Ah…”
“That’s why I can’t use my strongest spells. If I take too long chanting, the Black Tower’s master might ambush me, and that would be extremely dangerous.”
Clicking her tongue in frustration, she sighed.
“I’ll head in first and try to reduce the demonic energy a little more. You guys take a moment to catch your breath before entering.”
With that, Chamber stepped into the black dimension, determined to reduce the demonic energy further before the real battle inside the tower began.
“Thank you.”
Raon bowed his head toward her retreating figure before turning around.
“Are you all ready?”
He flicked his fingers, signaling to the Light Wind swordsmen.
“W-Wait! Everyone, put these on and eat quickly!”
Dorian frantically pulled fresh uniforms and internal injury medicine from his belly pocket, tossing them to the swordsmen.
"Let’s hurry up and get in. I'm itching for a fight."
Martha draped her new uniform over her shoulders, licking her lips in anticipation.
"Yeah. We need to be at our best..."
Runaan nodded as she swallowed the medicine.
“This is the first time I’ve wanted to fight so badly. I don’t want to lose this feeling.”
Burren clenched the hilt of his sword, as if wanting to gain more achievements.
‘They’ve definitely grown.’
Raon smiled as he watched Burren, Martha, and Runaan transform their tension into fighting spirit.
‘Their confidence in themselves has surpassed their fear.’
That’s right. It’s not just about physical strength, it’s about unwavering belief in oneself.
Wrath smirked, saying that for a warrior, such growth was something to be grateful for.
‘But honestly…’
Raon let out a faint sigh as he glanced at Mark Goetten standing to his right.
‘I had hoped that Sir Mark Goetten would be the first to reach Grandmaster.’
Given the years of experience Mark Goetten had accumulated, Raon had expected him to be the first to ascend to Grandmaster. But, unfortunately, he was the only one who had yet to break the wall.
Hmm, that one will likely turn out a little differently.
Wrath narrowed his eyes as he looked at Mark Goetten.
‘Differently?’
Yes. The restraints that bound him will snap back even more intensely.
Wrath let out a small chuckle, implying that it would be something good.
‘Whatever it is, as long as it’s something good, that’s enough.’
Raon gave Mark Goetten a small thumbs-up before stepping toward Rensia.
“Rensia.”
He placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder and smiled gently.
“Your part is done. Now, trust us and stay here with the others.”
Raon gestured toward the Black Tower behind him, nodding firmly.
“We’ll destroy that tower and come back.”
“Alright. I’ll wait here.”
For the first time, Rensia smiled like an ordinary girl her age, as if she had finally freed herself from the shackles of despair.
“I’m counting on you.”
As Raon bowed his head, Roenn appeared from thin air and stepped behind Rensia.
“Of course. I will watch over her well.”
Roenn nodded and gently took Rensia’s hand.
Kugugugugu!
Suddenly, buildings on the right collapsed, and from the wreckage, demonic creatures that had not yet been dealt with emerged, chasing after fleeing civilians.
Kiaaaaaa!
The monsters let out eerie shrieks and spewed flames of demonic energy toward the escaping people.
“You dare?!”
Burren stepped forward and slashed his sword downward. A gust of blue wind howled, slicing the monsters into dozens of pieces.
“Huff….”
“Th-Thank you.”
“You saved us.”
The survivors from Montiro, trembling with fear, bowed their heads to Burren in gratitude.
“It’s nothing. I’m just glad you’re safe.”
Burren shook his head as if it were no big deal.
“Huh? Rensia?”
Among the people who had been fleeing, a boy who looked to be around twelve years old waved toward Rensia.
He was the same guide who had brought food and drinks when Raon and Roenn first arrived in Montiro.
“Perin?”
Rensia’s eyes widened in recognition.
"Sister! You’re safe!"
Perin shouted in relief as he ran toward her.
"I’m glad you’re safe too! Come this w—huh?"
Just as Rensia was about to move toward him, Raon raised his hand, blocking her path.
“Sir Raon?”
“You can’t go.”
Raon stepped forward, positioning himself so that Rensia couldn’t even see Perin.
“P-Perin is fine! We grew up together, and he’s helped me so much.”
Rensia shook her head, insisting that there was no one as kind as Perin.
“The barrier around Montiro is gone now. That means the demonized humans can no longer hide their demonic energy.”
Raon’s lips curled as he gazed at the black energy flickering in Perin’s eyes.
“That boy is a demonized human. And a strong one at that.”
Though Perin had hidden his demonic energy within his small body, there was no deceiving Raon’s perception. He was a strong demonized human.
"N-No! That’s not true! Sister, you know me! Tell them!"
Perin desperately denied it, dropping to his knees on the ground.
“Sir Roenn.”
Raon turned to Roenn, silently asking him to handle the matter.
“So… you were a demonized human all along.”
Roenn sighed in disappointment, realizing that the passionate young guide who had guided him through Montiro was, in reality, a demonized human.
Ssssshhh!
But his hand moved swiftly, without hesitation.
"S-Sister! Please save me!"
Perin, without even attempting to resist like a normal person, curled up and began shedding tears.
“W-wait! Perin would never do something like that! Just give him a chance…!”
Rensia, unable to ignore his tears, took a step forward and reached out for Raon’s sleeve.
At that moment—
Boooooom!
A violent explosion of demonic energy erupted from her chest, sending a massive burst of blood splattering in all directions.
“Ah…”
Not only her chest but even her mouth overflowed with blackened blood as she collapsed backward.
“Rensia!”
Raon caught Rensia as she collapsed, quickly checking her condition.
The area where the black heart had been embedded was torn open, and the damage had severely affected her real heart as well.
“Damn it!”
Grinding his teeth, Raon channeled every bit of Divinity Blooming from the Underworld into her wound.
‘What… what the hell just happened…?’
He hadn’t let his guard down for even a second, ensuring that no matter what trick Perin tried to pull, he would be able to stop it. Yet somehow, this had happened.
Thud!
Meanwhile, Roenn had already driven his sword into Perin’s chest, pinning him in place.
“What did you do?”
For the first time, real fury flashed in Roenn’s eyes as he glared at Perin.
“That girl. No, every human in Montiro with a black heart is my creation. If I have to die, I might as well take that worthless girl with me.”
Perin grinned wickedly, revealing that he had remotely detonated the black heart.
Because he was the one who had created it in the first place, no one else had been able to sense it when he detonated it.
These bastards, fighting dirty to the end!
Wrath was truly enraged, and a storm of blue frost seethed around him.
“Damn it!”
Raon gritted his teeth and poured every ounce of energy of Divinity Blooming from the Underworld into Rensia. However, her condition had already been poor to begin with, and since the injury came from an internal explosion of demonic energy, the wound refused to heal properly.
“Q-quick! Try using holy water!”
Dorian hurriedly splashed the highest-grade holy water over her wound, but Rensia’s face only grew paler.
“Haaah…”
After using every last drop of Divinity Blooming from the Underworld, Raon finally stepped back. The bleeding had barely stopped, but her condition remained dire.
“Sir Raon…”
Rensia raised her trembling hand and grasped his.
“I-I'm sorry… He was one of the few people I truly trusted…”
She gasped for breath, apologizing for believing in Perin.
“It’s fine! It’s fine, so don’t talk—just breathe slowly.”
Raon shook his head as he continued desperately pouring holy water and medicine over her wound.
“I’ll be fine… Just… take care of my younger siblings…”
Rensia barely managed to whisper about her siblings before her head drooped.
She wasn’t dead, but her condition was critical—she could die at any moment.
“I will take care of her.”
Roenn bowed his head, apologizing for failing to eliminate Perin sooner.
“I leave her in your care.”
Raon squeezed Rensia’s hand one last time before entrusting her to Roenn.
“There are healers inside. No matter what, we’ll save her.”
Roenn carefully lifted Rensia into his arms and vanished from the spot.
‘Damn it…’
Even in a situation where she might die, Rensia thought of her younger siblings before herself. That only made it more heartbreaking.
“Haaah…”
Raon let out a deep breath and approached Perin, who was still pinned to the ground by a sword.
“Heh… hehehe…”
Perin raised his chin slightly, twisting his lips into a smirk.
"Did you really think you’d be safe after attacking us? Even if I die, other demonized humans will hunt you down to the very end."
He let out a twisted laugh, spitting out words like a curse.
"No, you’re not going to die."
Raon lowered his hand and poured Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation, Glacier, and Garunua into Perin’s mana circuits.
"W-Whatever you do, it won’t—GRAAAAAAH!"
A bloodcurdling scream tore from Perin’s throat, as if his vocal cords were being ripped apart.
The scorching heat, freezing cold, and raging wind rampaged through his mana circuits, inflicting a pain so excruciating that he would have rather died.
“P-Please… stop…”
In less than a minute, Perin, who had once accepted death, was now staring at Raon with bloodshot eyes, begging to be killed.
“I made sure it can never be undone.”
Ignoring his desperate gaze, Raon stood up.
“Watch from there as the Black Tower crumbles.”
With his fury boiling over, Raon turned toward the dimensional rift leading to the Black Tower.
“We’re not coming out until that tower is reduced to dust. Prepare yourselves.”
Lowering his hand, he signaled the Light Wind swordsmen to begin their attack on the Black Tower.
“We understand….”
Burren pressed his lips together and nodded firmly.
“Don’t worry. We won’t leave a single pillar standing.”
Martha drew her sword, grinding her teeth.
“Rensia…”
Runaan lowered her head, softly whispering Rensia’s name, still struggling to process the situation.
“Damn it! Damn it!”
“Uaaaagh!”
Dorian stomped his foot, blaming himself for his helplessness, while Krein grabbed his own head, letting out a frustrated scream.
“Light Wind Palace, advance.”
Raon drew Heavenly Drive and stepped into the darkness of the Black Tower’s dimension.
The Light Wind swordsmen followed, stepping into a world cloaked in demonic energy.
Wuuuuuuuuung!
The demonic energy of the dimension crushed down on their entire bodies.
However, Raon’s seething wrath did not weaken beneath its weight. Instead, it devoured the demonic energy, making him stronger than ever.
The <Wrath> he carried was the authority of a devildom monarch, this kind of demonic energy was nothing but fuel to be consumed.
“Raon Zieghart!”
A demonized human with jet-black skin charged forward, riding a Giant Demon Soldier. The monstrous creature swung its massive fist, large enough to crush a mansion, down toward him.
“Get lost.”
Raon’s Heavenly Drive, imbued with his wrath, slashed downward, cleaving both the Giant Demon Soldier and the demonized human riding atop it cleanly in half.
Goooooo!
Raon did not stop at merely slaying the Giant Demon Soldier. Instead, he pressed forward toward the Black Tower, cutting down every demonized human and demonic creature that dared block his path.
Pwoooosh!
With each swing of his sword, demonic creatures exploded into pieces, and demonized humans’ necks twisted and snapped.
The only things left in his wake were blackened blood and the scattered remnants of demonic energy.
His overwhelming strength and seething wrath made even the knights of Owen and the mages of Balkar freeze in awe.
“You… are dangerous.”
A middle-aged man with red hair and a black shield strapped to his arm stepped forward, blocking Raon’s path.
“Zepel, the Beastmaster.”
He was the floor overseer currently in charge of the Black Tower’s defenses. It was clear he had come to stall for time.
“This is as far as you go.”
Zepel unfastened the shield from his shoulder and slammed it into the ground.
Boom!
The shield absorbed the demonic energy flowing through the ground, instantly expanding into a massive wall, cutting off the allied forces.
It was thick, sturdy, and looked nearly impenetrable.
“Then try to stop me.”
Raon slashed Revolving Sky at the wall.
A spiraling blaze carved through the demonic wall and cleaved straight through Zepel’s body.
“T-this was an artifact granted by the Tower Mas—”
Zepel’s eyes widened in horror as he plummeted to the ground, unable to believe that his shield had been destroyed in a single strike.
“……”
Raon stepped over Zepel’s lifeless corpse and stood before the Black Tower. He looked up at the massive, towering structure, its full extent unknown.
Taking a deep breath, he unleashed the Azure Sky's Grand Elegance.
Chiaaaaaaang!
A sky infused with his wrath roared to life, cleaving through the demonic energy enshrouding the Black Tower.
The force sent the surrounding demonic energy scattering in fear, and the already cracked walls of the middle floors shattered completely, sending the demonized humans inside plummeting down, engulfed in flames.
Raon watched their agonized screams, his ice-cold gaze flickering like sharpened steel.
“Even if I die here…”
His voice carried no hesitation, only a chilling resolve.
“Not a single one of you will leave this place alive.”
