The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 924
Chapter 924
"Finally…."
Raon tightened his grip around Heavenly Drive as he watched the army of the Holy Kingdom of Schper radiate light through the darkness.
"They've arrived."
From the start, he had requested support from the Holy Kingdom of Schper because he believed they were stronger than Owen or Balkar when it came to battling demonized humans and demonic creatures.
However, after the death of the previous Holy King, the kingdom had shut its gates, focusing on strengthening its foundation and military power, making it difficult to establish contact.
He had asked them to come no matter how late it would be, and now, at last, the message seemed to have reached them.
Rumble!
The Holy Knights and priests unleashed overwhelming holy power to make up for their delayed arrival, driving back the demonized humans and demonic creatures.
What had once been tiny white specks on the battlefield had expanded to cover nearly half of the darkened canvas.
"Hah...."
Raon let out a breath as he watched the Holy Kingdom of Schper's forces effortlessly erase the enemy.
‘I didn’t expect this level of power.’
In terms of individual martial prowess, the Holy Knights could not compare to the elite of the Five Kings and Five Demons.
However, their holy power-infused blades sliced through the tough hides of the demonic creatures as if they were tofu, and their holy hymns flowing through their armor negated the demonic energy of the demons.
At least in this land, tainted by demonic energy, the holy knights of the Holy Kingdom of Schper were the strongest force.
Damn holy power….
Wrath clicked his tongue, clearly displeased.
But there’s no helping it this time.
The demon king shut his eyes tightly, resigning himself to tolerating it for now.
‘Gods, huh....’
Wrath had once told him that gods were not what people imagined them to be.
Raon did not doubt Wrath’s words, but the holy power granted by those gods was undeniably real.
Rumble!
The Holy Knights and priests continued to push forward, forcing back the demons and demonic creatures, finally reaching the allied forces.
“Tend to the wounded first!”
“Yes!”
At the Holy King Hopen's command, the high-ranking priests approached the wounded and began chanting prayers of healing.
Wooooong!
As the light of divinity spread, the wounds of the injured, whose flesh had begun to rot, began to heal. Even those whose faces had turned deathly pale regained some color.
It was a true miracle, something even the highest-grade holy water could not accomplish.
"Hey."
The Saintess Olga pulled a cigarette from inside her nun’s robe and placed it between her lips.
"Don’t just stand there getting all emotional. Do your job."
She flicked her chin upward, lighting the cigarette. Her holy power and martial prowess had grown immensely, yet her personality remained unchanged.
What is it with these kids and putting things in their mouths?
Wrath wrinkled his nose, reminded of Chamber and her candy as he watched Olga smoking.
"Benefactor! Leave this place to us!"
The new Holy King, Hopen, thumped his chest and bowed slightly, his gaze brimming with confidence, as if urging Raon to trust them.
Over time, he had grown both as a king and as a Holy Knight, exuding a dignified yet humble aura befitting a ruler. Seeing his transformation filled Raon with an unexplainable sense of pride.
‘He’s reliable. He’s changed a lot.’
I’ll acknowledge him.
Wrath nodded in agreement.
But it’s not just his demeanor that’s changed. The divine power he wields has grown several times stronger. To experience such an ordeal and come out with an even deeper faith… humans are truly baffling.
He narrowed his eyes, still unable to understand humans.
‘That’s something to think about later....’
Raon clicked his tongue as he looked at the demons and demonic creatures being pushed back by the holy power.
‘For now, I need to focus on closing the gate.’
The immense holy power had drastically slowed the resurrection of the demonic creatures and demonized humans. As long as Karoon remained strong, it seemed everyone would be able to hold out until he could close the gate.
"Palace master! Don’t worry about this place, go!"
Burren raised his bloodstained hand. It wasn’t just demonized human blood, he was bleeding as well, but he still hadn’t lost his smile.
“Don’t hesitate! Hurry up and finish this! We’ll be fine here!”
Martha wiped the blood from her neck and lifted her chin.
The wound had come dangerously close to being fatal, yet she remained fearless and unshaken.
"We’ll hold out…."
Runaan gave a faint smile and nodded slightly. Smiling at a time like this could only mean she had absolute trust in him.
Chiiiiing!
The Light Wind Palace swordsmen also raised their swords, even with their strength nearly depleted, pointing them toward the gate.
Their eyes conveyed the same unwavering belief.
"……."
Karoon gave a calm nod, as if no further words were necessary.
"I leave it to you."
Raon met the gazes of those remaining on the battlefield, one by one, before resolutely turning away.
You were hesitating just a moment ago...
Wrath narrowed his eyes at him.
Now you've finally made up your mind. How frustrating!
‘Sorry.’
Raon closed his eyes briefly.
‘I just… didn’t want to see anyone die.’
Rimmer’s death still haunted him. He didn’t want anyone he knew to suffer the same fate. But his hesitation had nearly led to even more deaths.
‘From now on, I’ll move forward without hesitation.’
He opened his eyes and fixed his gaze on the gate to the devildom. More demonic creatures and demons had emerged, completely covering the gate.
‘There’s nothing to be afraid of anymore.’
He raised Heavenly Drive toward the creatures targeting him. The flames swirling along its silver blade rotated fiercely, creating a force that pulled everything toward it.
Raon Zieghart Style Swordplay.
Second Form, Heavenly Heavy Cannon.
The demonic creatures and demons flailed desperately, trying to escape its range, but the Transcendence force embedded in the technique ignored their will, dragging them inward.
KUUUAAAAANG!
A condensed wave of black heat exploded, obliterating the demons and demonic creatures caught in its range without leaving a single trace behind.
Fwoooosh!
Raon used the force of the explosion as a foothold, propelling himself forward once more toward the gate.
Rumble!
Slashing through the demons, he reached the gate—only for a black shadow to descend from above.
It was the colossal monster that had once forced him back before the Holy Kingdom of Schper’s arrival.
A grotesque fusion of a dragon’s body and an eagle’s wings, too massive to be cleaved through with a single strike, even at full power.
But now, Raon had no reason to hesitate.
Chiiiiiing!
Unlike before, Raon didn’t retreat. Instead, he charged straight at the enormous beast, breaking through the black wind it spewed from its mouth and raising the Wooden Ring Sword.
KOOOOOOOM!
A delicate brilliance flickered along the Wooden Ring Sword, infused with the principles of swordsmanship refined to its utmost limit and the sheer will to cut down his enemy. What bound those two forces together was the wrath of the Demon King. A chilling blue light burned atop the silver blade.
Slaaaaash!
The silver trajectory of the Wooden Ring Sword tore through the sky.
The colossal monster caught within the slash didn’t even have time to register pain, its life was already extinguished.
Its split corpse plummeted lifelessly, and from its bisected body, blood-drenched frost petals scattered into the air.
Fwoooosh!
Raon leaped toward the gate, swinging Heavenly Drive. The flames blooming from its blade scattered like cherry blossoms, incinerating the fleeing demonic creatures.
"Now…."
Raon pointed Heavenly Drive at the demon with the black hand floating above the gate.
"It’s your turn."
He flicked his chin, provoking him to attack.
"Human…."
The black-handed demon looked down at the allied forces and the Holy Kingdom of Schper’s army before slowly raising its gaze. Its pitch-black eyes rolled upward, locking onto his.
"You truly are worthy."
The black-handed demon licked his lips as if he had found a treasure, his black eyes gleaming.
"My name is Zircon. I will determine who is more worthy—you or him."
As Zircon extended his hand into the air, a sword crackling like a bolt of lightning materialized in his grasp.
"Worthy? What nonsense are you spouting?"
Raon narrowed his eyes at Zircon. From the moment they first met, he had sensed that this demon’s words and actions were different from any he had encountered before.
"All you need to do is swing that sword at me."
Zircon pointed at Heavenly Drive, his gaze chilling.
"Strike me with the intent to kill, with everything you have."
He stated that was all that mattered, then gestured with his sword, beckoning Raon forward.
"If you fail to kill me with a single strike, you will die instead."
Zircon spoke in a chilling tone, as if casting a curse, then pulled his sword back behind his waist.
Crackle!
Dark lightning energy surged over Zircon’s blade, and the immense demonic energy pouring from the gate seemed to be converging entirely into his sword.
Rumble!
A black current flared around Zircon’s shoulders, making his sword appear enormous, as if it could devour the entire sky.
The sheer pressure of his energy was so overwhelming that it felt as if Raon’s very perception was being distorted.
"One strike. That is all."
Zircon declared that there would be no second chance, then bent his knees and lowered his upper body into a stance.
"Hoo…."
Raon slowly closed his eyes, watching Zircon’s sword expand further and further, growing to an unfathomable size.
"This won’t be easy."
The demonic energy that Zircon had gathered was immense, enough to tear this entire space apart.
Yet, what felt far more dangerous to Raon was Zircon’s sword itself.
It carried a presence far beyond any ordinary Transcendence level.
‘I have to end this here and now.’
Zircon had to be cut down in a single decisive strike, preventing him from interfering any further.
And once that was done, the gate to the devildom must be closed.
‘There’s only one technique that will do.’
This wasn’t a situation where he could afford to hold back or gamble on conserving strength.
His duty was to shut the gate.
What happened afterward did not matter, this battle had to be won at all costs.
Sching!
Raon sheathed the Wooden Ring Sword and gripped Heavenly Drive with both hands. He resonated with the Ring of Fire to the extreme, drawing forth every ounce of aura he possessed.
"If you are ready, let’s begin."
Zircon tightened his grip on his sword and stepped forward with his left foot. The space around him darkened, swallowing all light into a pitch-black void.
Within that impenetrable darkness, an even deeper black lightning crackled. Forget the sword, forget the demon, Zircon himself had become pure lightning, aiming to extinguish Raon’s life.
Kraaaaam!
The energy of nature, forged from demonic energy. Before Raon could even react, Zircon’s sword was already at his throat. Though the blade had yet to touch him, its sheer sharpness had already drawn blood from his neck.
" Good thing I made the right decision."
No sword technique he knew could block Zircon’s lightning strike.
Except for one.
Chiiiiing!
Raon slowly opened his eyes and raised Heavenly Drive. It was both slow and fast, heavy and light, reckless and serene all at once.
Sword Field Creation.
Genesis.
A single sword, yet ten thousand swords. Envisioning the pinnacle of his strength, Raon swung downward. A golden radiance, pushing back the night and summoning the dawn, clashed against the black lightning.
Kwaaaaaaaang!
The sheer ferocity of Zircon's blade made it feel as though Raon were truly fighting a bolt of lightning itself.
The surging electricity from the impact ripped into his flesh, tearing through his body and scattering his blood into the air.
But while his body wavered, his sword did not. The endless variations of the versatile sword supported the brilliance of Genesis, splitting the black lightning that had engulfed the sky.
Slaaaaaash!
Zircon’s sword shattered, and his body was torn in two. Like something that had never existed to begin with, his form dissolved into black ash, scattering into the wind.
"…So, it is you."
Despite facing death, Zircon smiled faintly, as if satisfied.
"We shall meet again."
With those final words, he melted into the darkness.
"I’d rather not see you again."
Raon, hunched over, shook his head. If they did meet again, he wasn’t sure he could cut Zircon down so easily. He had to close the gate to the devildom before the demon could resurrect.
Fwoooosh!
Without even a moment to catch his breath, Raon kicked off the ground and ascended to the pulsating black gate of devildom. He bit down on his bleeding lip and raised Heavenly Drive.
"This is the end."

"Good thing I brought a new flavor."
Chamber pulled a glowing yellow lollipop from her pocket.
"Leaving your subordinates behind just to deal with me…."
The Black Tower’s Master narrowed his ruby-red eyes, his lips curling into a mocking smile.
"Were you really that desperate for revenge?"
"No."
Chamber placed the yellow lollipop in her mouth and shook her head.
"I believe in them. Something you could never understand."
Chamber shrugged, as if to say she trusted her allies completely.
"There may be maggots who put their faith in a wretched god, so they’ll hold out for a while. But if the gate to the devildom isn’t closed, everything will eventually be consumed by darkness."
The Black Tower’s Master lifted his chin slightly, as if he were already certain of his victory in this war.
"And you, too, will be buried within this space."
"We have the king of variables on our side."
Chamber twirled her finger in a circle.
"King of variables?"
"Raon Zieghart. You didn’t account for Demon Holy Lightning Garet’s death, did you?"
She chuckled mockingly, taunting the Black Tower’s Master over Garet’s demise.
"No matter what happens, your plans will end in failure."
The Black Tower’s Master extended a black, flickering hand, his lips twisting into a smirk.
"You will never defeat me. Just like last time, I’ll make you beg for your life."
"There’s no such thing as absolute certainty in this world."
Chamber thought of a certain someone and shook her head.
"This time, things will be very different."
She bit down on her lollipop and brought two fingers together in front of her.
“Let’s put an end to our long, bitter feud here and now.”
