The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman 839

 Chapter 839

Huuuuung!

As Raon advanced toward the cold-faced man, he thrust Heavenly Drive forward.

He condensed the flames of Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation onto his sword strike, containing the principle of heavy sword.

Raon Zieghart Style Swordplay.

Second Form, Heavenly Heavy Cannon.

He used the attractive force blooming from the sword strike to pull the opponent closer, then exploded forth with an extremely powerful sword strike.

Kuwaaaaang!

An enormous shockwave erupted, creating a storm of astral energy that swept through the surroundings.

Because he considered the opponent a wall blocking his way, he had drawn out his full strength from the start, causing even the barrier to tremble as if it might shatter.

"Get ready to go—"

It was when he shouted to the Light Wind swordsmen to prepare to escape from the barrier.

Woooong!

From within the flames created by the Heavenly Heavy Cannon, pure white rays of light poured out.

“Hmm..!”

Raon took a step back and drew a diagonal slash with the Blade of Requiem.

Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation, Thousand Flames, Thirty-Six Crimson Slash.

The flames extending toward thirty-six directions collided with the light cluster that fell like a meteor shower.

Kugugugugugugu!

Red flames and white lightning collided endlessly, causing a powerful explosion. If his body weren’t sturdy, even just that shockwave would have torn off his limbs.

‘Strong.’

Raon initially thought the man was a sorcerer since he had dragged Raon and the Light Wind division into this barrier at once, but his martial strength itself was considerable.

Though it wasn’t at the level of a Transcender’s energy wave, strangely, he felt stronger than the First Apostle.

Whoooosh!

As the flames created by the Heavenly Heavy Cannon vanished, the man with the cold and grim expression appeared again.

Seeing that his outer garment wasn’t even singed, it seemed he really was stronger than the First Apostle, just as Raon had sensed.

‘If that’s the case….’

Raon didn’t have much time. Rather than confronting this unknown bastard, escaping from this space took priority.

Chijijijijik!

Raon quickly twisted his ankle. He swung Heavenly Drive and the Blade of Requiem toward the white wall on the right. It was the twin blade technique that connected Crimson Slash to Revolving Sky.

Hwaaaak!

The fierce flames poured down and split the white wall.

However, the barrier didn’t completely split. Like water cut by a blade, it slowly returned to its original form.

“What is this….”

The power he initially felt from the barrier wasn’t that strong. He thought Crimson Slash and Revolving Sky would be enough to cut through it, but it didn’t work at all.

“As long as I am here, you cannot leave.”

The cold-faced man shook his head as if it was impossible.

“Hm….”

Raon raised his gaze and bit his lips.

‘Did that bastard strengthen the barrier?’

Hearing him say as long as I am here, Raon figured that damn bastard must have increased the barrier’s durability.

‘Well, that makes sense.’

Because he was the one who created this barrier, strengthening its durability wouldn’t have been difficult.

That bastard….

Wrath frowned as he looked at the cold-faced man.

He is a celestial.

‘What…?’

Raon turned to Wrath, his eyes wide open.

‘Ce-Celestial? That human?’

Indeed. He is a high-ranking angel among the celestial.

Wrath deeply furrowed his brow at the man, as if disgusted.

‘High-ranking angel….’

Raon swallowed dryly.

‘Why is a celestial helping Sif?’

He couldn’t understand how Sif could be connected to the celestial.

‘Wait a minute….’

Raon bit his lip as he looked up at the celestial who was said to be a high-ranking angel.

‘Could it be that guy?’

Currently, there was only one person on the continent connected to the celestial, Derus Robert. That bastard's filthy face began to overlap with this celestial

‘No, it must be him.’

Sif said that he had met his god and displayed behavior and speech that somehow reminded him of Derus Robert. It reeks. That fiend must surely be standing behind these guys.

“Celestial.”

Raon jerked his chin toward the high-ranking angel.

“What is your relationship with Derus Robert?”

“Hmm….”

The high-ranking angel’s eyes trembled slightly as he looked down.

“To think you figured that out already. As he said, you truly are a human possessed by demon.”

He covered his nose and mouth with his hand, as if disgusted.

“Damn it.”

Raon gritted his teeth as he stared at the high-ranking angel.

‘It’s that bastard again!’

Whenever something vile occurred on this continent, Derus Robert was always involved. At this point, Raon wanted to crack open that bastard’s skull to see what he was thinking.

“Originally, I should be stalling for time so Beorn can absorb Aris’ power, but you're making it impossible for me to leave you alone. In the name of the angel Vardiel, I shall grant you salvation.”

Calling himself Vardiel, the high-ranked angel revealed his dry gaze.

‘Vardiel? Why is he suddenly revealing his real name?’

Raon let out a hollow laugh as he stared at Vardiel.

Why else? They delude themselves into thinking they are clean and righteous in what they do.

Wrath said they were a disgustingly ugly race, wrinkling his nose.

“C-Celestial? Like that monster back then?”

Burren’s lips trembled in shock.

“Celestial, my ass! Get lost!”

Martha roared and struck the wall of light with her sword imbued with Titan’s aura at the wall of light.

“Open up the door….”

Runaan, too, seemed to have had enough. Blue frost burst out from her entire body.

“Looks like I’ll have to wear you down a little as well.”

When Vardiel snapped his fingers, the white ground rippled like viscous paint, and humans of light holding swords and spears rose from it. “Take care of them.”

At his command, the humans of light charged toward the Light Wind swordsmen without even shouting a battle cry.

“What the hell are these things now!”

Martha gritted her teeth and swung her sword imbued with Titan’s aura.

Puuuuuck!

Under her heavy sword strike, the humans of light charging forward collapsed like a sandcastle struck by a fist.

Wuuuuuung!

However, the humans of light regenerated their bodies as if nothing had happened and once again ran toward Martha. It seemed to be Vardiel’s ability, using the barrier.

“These guys just won’t stop regenerating!”

Burren shook his head, saying the regeneration was too fast.

“I’ll do it.”

Runaan stepped to the front of the Light Wind formation and struck down with the Snow Flower Sword.

The cold energy blooming from the blade spread out in concentric circles, freezing all the humans of light charging at the Light Wind swordsmen.

“Yeah! Nice one!”

Martha exclaimed and raised her thumb toward Runaan.

“Now, let’s break the barrier….”

Just as she said they should destroy the barrier, the ice shattered into pieces, and the humans of light began moving again.

“You idiot! I even complimented you, freeze them properly this time!”

“This is the best I can do….”

Runaan pouted her lips and spread the cold energy again, but it only managed to stop the footsteps of the humans of light briefly.

If that celestial bastard is not dealt with, both this barrier and those humans of light will continue to exist.

Wrath shook his head, saying Vardiel must be dealt with first.

‘That’s what I’ll do.’

Raon nodded his head and looked at Vardiel.

You must have noticed, but that celestial bastard isn’t using his full power.

Wrath snorted while looking up at Vardiel.

To break this barrier, you must first force him to fight seriously and draw out his wings.

He explained that angels reveal their white wings when fighting with full power and nodded.

‘I see.’

Raon now understood why he initially thought Vardiel felt stronger than the First Apostle.

That bastard was hiding the wings and power of an angel under a human shell.

‘Then Sif hasn’t absorbed all of Aunt’s power yet.’

Judging by Vardiel’s words and actions, he created this barrier to buy time so Sif could fully absorb Aris’ power.

Raon didn’t know what secret there was in Zieghart’s blood that such an absurd thing was possible, but what he had to do was clear.

“It’s complicated but simple.”

Raon tilted his chin toward Vardiel.

“All I have to do is take that bastard down.”

“As expected, humans continue to go down the wrong path.”

Vardiel looked down at Raon and shook his head heavily.

“Look at the chicken bastard squawking.”

Raon sneered while looking at Vardiel.

“I don’t know why demon and celestial talk so much nonsense.”

Hey!

Wrath shook his head, complaining about Raon suddenly bringing up demons.

‘Focus.’

Raon’s head was spinning with worry—not just about Aris but also about the people outside the barrier. It was hard to make a proper judgment. Imagining the worst-case scenario, he felt he couldn’t control his emotions even with the trait Clear Mirror, Still Water.

But the only thing he could do was always the same—defeat the enemy before him. Focusing solely on that, he regripped Heavenly Drive and the Blade of Requiem.

"You have been very deeply tainted by the demons."

Vardiel lowered one eyebrow and stretched out his hand. The white light bursting from his palm surged toward Raon as if to erase his entire body.

Unlike the light that formed this space, it carried an undeniable aggression.

Kuuung!

Raon didn’t retreat. Instead, he stepped forward using the Supreme Harmony Steps. Throwing his body toward the light that seemed like it would melt his whole body, he imbued Glacier’s cold energy onto Heavenly Drive.

Kwaaaaaah!

The Frost of the Demon King, riding the wind of Light Wind Flow, froze all the light the celestial had created.

“Hmm!”

Vardiel widened his eyes and stepped back, as if shocked that his attack had been frozen.

“Don’t run, celestial.”

Raon moved so quickly that his vision turned black, and he struck down Heavenly Drive. Wrath’s cold energy, freezing the light, was with him.

Kwaaaaaah!

He shattered the wall of light Vardiel had created with Heavenly Drive and thrust the Blade of Requiem toward his heart. White frost bloomed over the crimson blade of resentment.

“Ugh!”

As Vardiel swallowed dryly and brought his two hands together, a sphere of light blazing like the sun rose before his chest, roughly pushing back the two swords.

“Haa….”

Raon stepped one foot back and let out a faint breath.

‘He’s strong, but I can take him.’

The light Vardiel created was strong and fast, but it didn’t have the principles of martial arts imbued into it. He could definitely win.

“I will pierce holes all over your body.”

As Vardiel twisted his lips, a pure-white flash shot out from the sphere of light he held.

There were too many of them to cut down with a sword.

Whoooosh!

Raon raised Heavenly Drive before his eyes. Frost flowers bloomed atop the blade, which had turned blue with cold.

The Flame Spirit unleashed with Glacier collided with the flashes pouring from the sphere of light.

Kugugugugu!

As sword strikes and light clashed countless times, Vardiel’s gaze sharpened.

‘This guy really is dangerous.’

Seeing his divine power being erased confirmed that Raon had accepted the power of demons into his body. If he let this continue, the barrier itself might collapse.

‘Maybe it’s better to eliminate him.’

Thinking back to the incident when Raon exposed Derus’ identity, Vardiel judged it better to kill him here, despite his talents and power.

Wuuuuuung!

Vardiel compressed the sphere of light into the size of a marble, crossing his hands. The sphere vibrated as if it would explode and was launched toward Raon.

Kwaaaaaa!

The tightly condensed light-sphere spread out like a cloud before Raon’s eyes, causing a grand explosion.

‘It’s over.’

This was his ultimate technique—Light Transformation. No matter how much demonic power Raon possessed, it was impossible for a human body that hadn’t reached Transcendence to withstand such a blow.

Just as Vardiel thought it was all finished and lowered his hand, red eyes flashed within the waves of white light.

Kuwoooong!

Raon pushed off the ground with his toes, shattering it, and surged forward. Void Slash, imbued with the Authority of Wrath, tore through the wall of light and impaled Vardiel’s chest.

Puuuuuuuuhk!

Not only Vardiel, but even the space behind him split, and the white barrier began to open.

“Now!”

Raon gestured toward the Light Wind swordsmen, but the opening barrier closed again as white light surged up from the ground.

Kuuuuuuung!

Vardiel’s skin peeled away, and white wings burst out of his back.

“How dare you, a mere human!”

He twisted his black pupils as if he had advent not as a celestial, but as a demon.

Kuuung!

Raon reversed his grip on Heavenly Drive and Blade of Requiem and drove them into the ground.

Wuuuuuung!

On the barrier filled with white light, a golden sun and a silver moon rose, forging the divine sword and demonic sword.

“How dare a celestial….”

Raon grabbed the calmly descending divine and demonic swords and turned his chin.

“Block the path of humans.”

*   *   *

“Dorian.”

Sif chuckled as he approached Dorian.

“Ugh….”

Dorian backed away, but it wasn’t long before his back hit the wall.

“I pretended not to know, but I knew about you too. Raon’s closest retainer and the Light Wind division’s quartermaster, right?”

Sif spun his black sword with a grin.

“What do you think would happen if I showed Raon Zieghart your corpse, with all your limbs ripped off, when he appears? Wouldn’t it make him easier to deal with?”

He spoke as if anticipating Raon’s expression, then swung his black sword down. The sword, imbued with the space sword, thinly curling upward, revealed its fangs toward Dorian’s leg.

“Uaaaagh!”

Right before Sif finished swinging his sword, Dorian threw himself to the right. Thanks to that instantaneous decision, instead of his thigh being sliced off, he only ended up with a small wound.

“I was aiming to cut off your leg, though.”

Sif narrowed his eyes as he looked at Dorian.

“You seem to have learned something, I see.”

He sneered and shook his head.

“Fine. Then I’ll get a bit more serious.”

“Ah….”

Dorian’s chin trembled as he looked at Sif’s gleaming red eyes.

‘This is no good.’

He had been able to avoid the first strike thanks to his mind’s eye, but this time it was beyond him.

No matter when or how he moved, it felt like he couldn’t escape that black sword.

“This time, it’s your arm.”

Sif declared he would cut off his arm and lightly swung the black sword down.

“Ahhhhhh! Division leader!”

Dorian screamed for Raon’s help and shut his eyes.

Whoooosh!

He braced himself for the pain of losing an arm, but instead, all he felt was the refreshing scent of a gentle breeze.

“Huh….”

When Dorian slowly opened his eyes, red hair was swaying right in front of him.

"Come on, really? You're looking for Raon instead of me?"

Rimmer turned to look at Dorian and let out a small laugh.

“Vi-Vice division leader!”

“Here, take this useless human off my hands.”

Rimmer handed Aris, which had been hanging on his left hip, over to Dorian.

“Hm?”

Sif narrowed his eyes as he looked at Rimmer.

“Where were you hiding, only to come out now?”

“I left first, so I was outside this cavern.”

Rimmer tilted his head casually while resting his leaf-like sword on his shoulder.

“I was going to leave the front to Raon and circle around and launch a surprise attack, but things turned out like this.”

He chuckled, saying it was fortunate in some ways.

“No matter how much you erased your presence and hid, Vardiel’s barrier should have… ah!”

Sif suddenly noticed Rimmer’s ears and let out a chuckle.

“So that’s how it was? Well, it makes sense. Considering it’s a hastily made barrier, there must have been limitations.”

He nodded as though he finally understood.

“This actually works out better.”

Sif twisted his lips into a long grin as he stared at Rimmer.

“You seem like you’d be fun to toy with.”

“Fun?”

Rimmer scoffed and shook his head.

“I don’t know what trick you pulled to steal this punk’s power, but….”

Behind him, a blue wind rose, erasing all killing intent in its path.

“…I’ll show you that a hastily built bridge is bound to collapse with many flaws.”
